The Rev. Craig A. Foster
Hello everyone! I am very excited to be appointed as your Deacon at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. I anticipate much fun in getting to know you as we go forward. I am a cradle Episcopalian, raised at St. Anskar’s Episcopal Church in Rockford, Ill. I have lived in Ohio for almost 35 years. I attended six different churches in the diocese as I moved around with my assignments by Honda of America Manufacturing.
I was ordained deacon in 2007 by Bishop Breidenthal and spent nearly 13 years as a deacon at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Columbus. I know many of you from your previous partnerships with St. John’s. Since 2019 my servant ministry as a deacon has focused on the Solarize Ohio project to install solar systems on as many Episcopal churches as possible. This project has evolved into the Creation Care and Environmental Task Group that I co-chair. Fr. Devin has asked me to support both the Social Concerns and Pastoral Care Committees at St. Alban’s as an additional part of my service ministry. I look forward to my assignment as your deacon and am thankful Rev. Rogers and Bishop Price have agreed to my assignment at St. Alban’s.
My day job is as senior engineer of Energility LLC, a commercial energy audit company. Energility completed the energy audit at St. Alban’s a few years ago. Although a founding partner in the company I am now semi-retired, working there part-time.
Kathy and I have been married for 19 years and have a blended family of five daughters, four sons-in-law, eight fantastic grandchildren, and one very spoiled 75 pound lab mix. Kathy also is a cradle Episcopalian having grown up attending Trinity Church in Columbus. One of favorite activities every year is to take our eight grandchildren ranging in age from 4 to 14 to Procter Center Family Camp each year. We also like to travel, especially in our travel trailer with our dog and have a four week trip to Yellowstone planned for September!
Kathy and I both look forward to meeting you and becoming part of the St. Alban’s family.
Your brother in Christ,
Deacon Craig
