Our topic this week: The Examen

What is spirituality / what is the Examen?

Spirituality is the way a person makes sense of things or connection between themselves, creation and the other.

The Examen prayer was made popular by St. Ignatius of Loyola .  The Examen is Ignatius spirituality and is about finding God in all things or being contemplative.

Ernestine Utah will lead us in exploring The Examen

EQUIPPING THE SAINTS

Come and check out the Formation Rooms downstairs in the Ed Building! Each of these rooms (Art, Lego, and Storytelling) has prompts for both children and adults as a way to engage in faith reflection.

Come and let yourself play, be creative, and explore your faith and spirituality. The rooms are available on Sundays in-between morning services and after the 3:33 service.

Be on the lookout for a spiritual practice/prayer chapel Formation Room to be added soon. Questions or comments about the Formation Rooms, please contact Youth Minister, Kayla Aspeslagh (youthed@stalbans-bexley.org).

Healing Service
A CHANGE

YOU ARE ALL INVITED to the IN-PERSON HEALING SERVICE

The October Healing Service will be held in-person on Wednesday, November 3 at 10:30 AM.
This is a change from our usual fourth Wednesday of the month. We will return to our usual fourth Wednesday on November 24.

THE NEXT SERVICE is Wednesday, November 3 at 10:30 am

We will have the service using A Public Service of Healing and will include Communion.
Following the service, we will have a time for fellowship and discussion, sharing experiences, thanksgivings, questions, concerns, and ideas or just come to offer and/or receive support.  You do not have to have a problem or need. You may find this a meaningful mid-week service.
Please join us when you can.
2 Cents-a-Meal

Now that we are back in church in greater numbers, we will again collect our savings for the 2 Cents-a-Meal Program.

The 2 Cents-a-Meal Program is designed to remind us of the poor and needy at mealtimes. Parishioners put two pennies per person per meal in a container for hunger ministries as we give thanks for our own food. On a designated Sunday, four times per year, each household brings their 2 Cents-a-Meal offering. One half is given to a local
food pantry and the other half is given to the Hunger Network in Ohio to further its efforts to end hunger.

THE NEXT COLLECTION is Sunday, October 31. Please bring your money to church and put it in the collection jar.

Please help support this ministry. Hunger is a significant problem in our community.

Call the church (614) 253-8549 or Eileen Becknell (614) 512-6335 if you have any questions.

STOP   -  POP   -   DROP

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio (RMHC) has been serving families with seriously ill children by providing a home-away-from-home at the Columbus Ronald McDonald House. The tabs of soda cans have been collected as a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House. These tabs (a compact, easily collectable and recyclable source of aluminum) generate thousands of dollars every year. The person receiving the collection reported that these tabs pay for the electric bill at the Ronald McDonald House. So, STOP (before you recycle the can) POP (the tab) and DROP(the tab in a receptacle). Please save these tabs, a project of Sue Altmaier, a former parishioner. There is a collection receptacle in the Living Room. We will periodically deliver the tabs to the Ronald McDonald House.
