While many of us have been using artificial intelligence (AI) in our research for decades, access to large language learning models like Chat-GPT marks a watershed moment in public awareness of the capability of artificial intelligence (AI). Like all other sectors of society, the academy will need to adapt to take advantage of its strengths, make informed decisions about how to protect against its potential harms, and educate our students on how to navigate a world in which AI is ubiquitous.
From the classroom to the field, how is AI changing our educational landscape? And how should we respond? To help answer these questions, the College of Arts & Sciences will hold a series of events in AI-April that will be the start of a series of activities across A&S, SOE, and University Libraries under the banner AI@UNM, all of which will posted at AIResources.unm.edu.
I hope that you all will take the time to join one or more of these events to contribute to the conversation:

I hope that you all have an enjoyable and relaxing spring break.
Until next month,
