Congratulations former UNM Department of Spanish & Portuguese graduate student María Vielma. María was awarded the prestigious Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) Award for Distinguished Master’s Thesis in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, and Business for her Masters thesis “Creando la confianza: Narratives of Mentorship of Latina Professors at the University of New Mexico.” María is currently a doctoral student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in Educational Foundations, Policy and Practice.
