UNM IRB is Recruiting Faculty

 

Service on the IRB is a valuable experience for any faculty conducting human research. The time commitment for this opportunity includes one two-hour meeting per month which includes an approximate prep time of another two hours. In addition to this, there is an initial CITI training and a new member orientation. 

 

Please email Linda Mayo (petreel@unm.edu) to express interest and to schedule a time to observe a meeting before committing to serve.

Community-based Research Initiative 2024-2025 Call for Proposals

 

The UNM Center for Regional Studies (CRS) in partnership with the College of Arts & Sciences

(A &S) announces its Community-based Research Initiative. This initiative is to financially support

two community-based research project during FY25. The CRS and A & S partnership will provide

up to $30,000 for the fiscal year. CRS invites project proposals from UNM faculty.

2024 Women in STEM Award Call for Nominations


The awards, now in their ninth year at UNM, range from $3,000 to $15,000, and three types of grants will be given. The categories include travel awards to foster collaborations, seed awards to stimulate research projects that will lead to additional external funding, and workshop awards designed to generate innovative research ideas and collaborations.

Congratulations to Ruben Leyva whose article "The Gila Wilderness is Gila Apache Homeland" was recently published in the Las Cruces Sun News. The article highlights the important work that Ruben and others are doing in an effort to gain Federal recognition for the Chíhéne Nde Apache.
