Every week students are exploring a variety of academics, technology, and the arts. Please enjoy some of our favorite traditions and new traditions happening at Park Maitland School.
First graders' annual Harvest Festival was here. They were thankful and very excited to enjoy this special day with a family member and their Jelly Fudge Friend. Our first-grade students started their morning spending time and receiving their Thankful Scrapbooks by their JFF. Our first-grade students then headed over to the AAC to begin their event with their families. While families walked into the AAC to grab a seat, they were in for a treat as our students sang a special song, orchestrated by music teacher, Mr. Eleazer on stage. Afterward, students joined their families as they traveled through different stations to "shake" their very own butter, make a bracelet in art class, play games outside in the field, and much more.
Yesterday was the last day for our annual food drive with a final total of 7,948 items donated.

Our ambassador program delivered over 3,000 items today to the food pantry at Killarney Elementary School. Student ambassadors delivered the food that was collected and helped package the meals. Families at Kilarney can register with the food pantry that will help provide meals for Thanksgiving break as well as the rest of the year.
Who got to take the Golden Turkey Trophy?
Drumroll, please...
3 Red!
Congratulations!

Tomorrow is a big day for our third-grade students as they celebrate the Native American Festival. Today in Ms. Dawson's Science and Social Studies class, students leaped for joy as they received their Native American wristband, or "cuff", with their Native American names engraved. This is modeled after a longstanding tradition by members of the Ute tribe in Colorado based on timelines of the members' lives.
It was an inspirational night as our Alumni shined in their performance for the Alumni Concert in the AAC. The proceeds went to support the performing arts at Park Maitland through the Park Maitland Foundation. We are so thankful for everyone that came or watched through live-stream to support this cause.
Theater News
We could not be more proud of our very own Super Senior, Aidan S., who performed in Elf at Dr. Phillips Center this past weekend. He was surrounded by so many of his Park Maitland classmates. Congratulations, Aidan!
Gatorland
Another field trip in the books as the second graders traveled to Gatorland last week. They created timeless memories with friends while they had up-close encounters with alligators and snakes and went to Allie's Barnyard to pet and feed some lovable critters.
Sports News
Park Maitland sports is back and we are excited to cheer on our volleyball team.
