Every week students are exploring a variety of academics, technology, and the arts. Please enjoy some of our favorite traditions and new traditions happening at Park Maitland School.
Greek Fest
Students and visitors were sure to be entranced by our annual 6th Grade Greek Fest today! In preparation, our young historians learned the basics of evaluating sources, researched a philosopher of their choice, wove together laurel headpieces, fashioned togas from bedsheets, and made the final edits to their speeches. All that was left to do was perform!

Each class gathered in our agora, the garden by the front office, to create a living garden of philosopher statues ready to come to life and recite the epic tales and accomplishments for which they are most famous. As is also a Park Maitland tradition, our students exceeded expectations and made us all proud.

A huge thank you to our parent committee who diligently worked to help us prepare for the event and hosted a truly impressive luncheon feast that included a toast to Dionysus, a delicious Greek buffet, dancing, and plate smashing. Opa!
This week, students celebrated Hanukkah. Thank you to Ms. Hirsch and Ms. Feinberg for making Latkes for the entire fourth grade and telling the story about why we celebrate Hanukkah.
Hungry to Help
On Tuesday our student ambassadors for Hungry to Help served nearly 200 meals at the Christian Service Center.

People in our community need help more than ever. If you and your family want to volunteer and serve with this organization, you can sign up at https://www.christianservicecenter.org/volunteering.
They serve lunch every day to those in need in the downtown Orlando area.
Science & Social Studies
In Ms. Nepple's Science and Social studies class, Dr. Witt (mom of Lilianna in 1 -Yellow) explains Hanukkah while Ms. Feinberg (mom of Sofie in 1-Yellow) made latkes for the kids.
Art
In Ms. Flavhan's class, students in second grade are proud to show their Cornucopias art while in progress.
Photography
Super Seniors Mia M., Maeven H., Peyton W., Amelia B., Elizabeth B., Aziel R., and Megan M. joined a brand new elective, the yearbook staff for quarter 2. Each week students have the opportunity to check out cameras to explore the world of photography. You can view some of their explorations around campus and at home as they really delve into understanding exposures this week.
