Every week students are exploring a variety of academics, technology, and the arts. Please enjoy some of our favorite traditions and new traditions happening at Park Maitland School.
The holiday's around campus does not begin until TV Holidayland has aired at Park Maitland School. "It was really fun because we get to sing and act! I enjoyed being Betty!" Karis B. said. The holidays around campus were alive here this week, with winter coats, snow boots, and hats. "It was cool because we wore costumes and had special parts in the play," Jordan B. said. Congratulations to our third graders yesterday, "I was nervous at the beginning, then I felt better, and finally it felt fun!" AJ S. said and second graders today for their incredible stage presence! "First I had stage fright but it turns out it wasn't that scary to be looking out at the people," Bray M. said. We are so proud that our students even had a standing ovation from the audience!
A Tennis Player at Heart
This past weekend, at the 2021 Bea for Kids Champions Challenge Heathrow Country Club charity event, our Elijah Prophete's fledgling tennis career got a boost. He spent two days hitting with five world grand slam tennis pros at the Champions Challenge Series at Heathrow Country Club in Lake Mary. He was so excited to go head-to-head (well, almost) with Grand Slam winners: James Blake, Tommy Haas, Sam Querrey, Marcos Baghdatis, and Bob Bryan.

Elijah hit on the center court in front of a crowd of tennis enthusiasts. This was such a confidence builder for him. He practically stole the show! Congratulations, Elijah, we are so proud of you!
Science & Social Studies
In Ms. Nepple's Science and Social studies class, Mr. Michael Anna our head of school was the first grade guest scientist this week. He taught our students all about rockets. Afterwards, the students were surprised to see a rocket launch into the sky.
Girl Scout Troops
Sweet moments at the 69th annual Winter Park Parade on Saturday. Five Park Maitland girl scout troops march together (and along the way spotted our very own Mrs. Ayers)!
