Every week students are exploring a variety of academics, technology, and the arts. Please enjoy some of our favorite traditions and new traditions happening at Park Maitland School.
Fifth and Sixth graders were transported to Wonderland for the Winter Ball this past Friday. The AAC was transformed into an "Alice and Wonderland" themed spectacle. The evening began with boys escorting the girls out of their cars as the gentlemen they are, all students using their well-practiced manners at dinner, and students afterward enjoying an evening of dancing with their friends.

Mrs. Michelle Feinberg, mom of Ben, in 4-Purple, was a special visitor in class last week. She was the Mystery Reader in class and brought Encyclopedia Brown books to share. The students wrote down clues and put on their detective hats to solve two different mysteries related to the story. It was a lot of fun for the students to see if they could "crack the case." Also, students participated in a fun, interactive round of Mad Libs where students were asked to volunteer different parts of speech to a story. Afterward, Mrs. Feinberg read the story aloud with the responses given by students for a fun Friday activity!

Background on Encyclopedia Brown:

Encyclopedia Brown is a series of books featuring the adventures of boy detective Leroy Brown, nicknamed "Encyclopedia" for his intelligence and range of knowledge. The series of 29 children's novels was written (one co-written) by Donald J. Sobol, with the first book published in 1963 and the last published in 2012. In addition to the main books, the Encyclopedia Brown series has been made into a comic strip, a TV series, and a compilation of books that include puzzles and games.
