Tropicana Speech Contest
This week, the Tropicana Speech Contest took place in the AAC, hosted by Ms. Eleazer and our panel of judges, Ms. Kennedy, Mr. Anna, and Ms. Spillmann. The Tropicana Speech contest allows opportunities for our fourth grade students to learn the art of speechwriting and performing. This year we had twelve students advance to the finals led by language arts teachers Ms. Schultz and Ms. McGuire. The winner of the Tropicana Speech contest will go on to the county competition.

Today, the Tropicana Speech contest winner was announced. Congratulations to Michael B.!

Car Wash
Photographer: Cheryl Mumbert
Last week was the sixth-grade car wash. Each year, students vote on the charity they would like to support; this year the winner was paws.org. Students sold hot dogs, drinks and chips and worked as a team washing cars. "I wanted to take a moment to congratulate Kitana T. and Anna D. whose work on their Design Thinking passion projects inspired their classmates to vote for Paws.org," Ms. Triano said.

If you were unable to make the car wash or are interested in donating to this charity which rehabilitates animals - both domestic and wild, Kitana and Anna have set up a donation box with Mrs. Blythe at the front desk. We will continue to collect money through the end of day tomorrow, Thursday, April 14th.
