Every week students are exploring a variety of academics, technology, and the arts. Please enjoy some of our favorite traditions and new traditions happening at Park Maitland School.
FESTIVAL OF NATIONS
First-grade students walked into each country with their travel gear such as cameras and sunglasses, including their passports, for this year's Festival of Nations. Students in each class had the opportunity to travel around campus exploring Pakistan, South Korea, Brazil, France, and Australia. Each country included a learning experience for each student to embrace the culture. The event ended with students singing, "We are the World", directed by music teacher, Mr. Eleazer.
Basketball Game
At our Movie on the Lawn event, students had the opportunity to bid on a chance to spend some time with our teachers at Park Maitland school. Sixth-grade students won the auction item to play basketball with Mr. Anna, Mr. Courson, and Mr. Minkow. Thank you to Cheryl Mumbert for capturing this great moment.
Language Arts
Second-Grade
Second-grade students in Ms. Berzovich's and Ms. Johnson's classes had an excellent time reading and summarizing Wanted! Rally Rabbit, Book Burglar.
Holding Area
Second-grade students at morning time enjoy seeing their friends before classes start.
Hungry to Help
On April 12th, Hungry to Help Ambassadors fed over 200 homeless and hungry in the downtown Orlando area. We have one last visit scheduled in May. During this year, students in the Hungry to Help program have prepared and served more than 2,300 meals. That's fantastic! Way to go leaders. Thanks for all your hard work this year.
