Every week students are exploring a variety of academics, technology, and the arts. Please enjoy some of our favorite traditions and new traditions happening at Park Maitland School.
This week students participated in "Take Apart Days" with Ms. Trombley. K5 through second-grade students carefully and strategically took apart old electronics as they peeled back the layers of various devices and household items to see how things look and work beneath their outer shell.
Art Faire
The Annual Art Faire took place on Wednesday for all classes to walk around and view amazing artwork from each grade-level.That evening, Park Maitland's Got Talent was back in person for a relaxing event for family and friends to gather together to watch our very own student performers sing, dance, or play the piano.
Pet Therapy
This week a special guest, Jazzy, came to visit Mrs. Reed's and Mrs. Johnson's classes with owner Dominique Piccolo. Third-grade students in 3 Red and second-grade students in 2 Green enjoyed petting Jazzy and enjoyed their therapy pet visit.
Chess Champion
Congratulations to Silver medalist, Cade von Weller, and Chess Champion, Gold medalist, Lucas Jaber, whose names will be added to the legendary trophy in Ms. Dawson's room. Each year students look forward to Ms. Dawson's Chess club, an after school program that offers many great opportunities for our Park Maitland students.

Career Day

Science and Social Studies in Ms. Bates's 2 Green class had career day with special guest, Emery's dad.
Backyard Playdate
Second-grade students in 2 Green had their end of year class party with their third grade teachers which was an auction item from the Movie on the Lawn event. It was a "backyard" playdate at Phelps Park where they played capture the flag and did a water balloon toss with pizza and Jeramiah's. It was a really great way for them to get to know the amazing third-grade team!
Alumni News
Exciting news! One of our very own Park Maitland Alumni, Dalton Joseph, who will be graduating from Trinity this year, has been awarded Outstanding Lead Performer for both of his shows this past year. He is one of 30 who has won this award, and the only one in Central Florida to win for both shows this year. He will be presented with his awards at the Applause Awards on June 4 at the Dr. Phillips Center and will sing with the other winners and have a solo from one of his shows in their medley presentation. Congratulations, Dalton Joseph!
2nd Grade Brownie Troop
This past weekend, our Park Maitland second-grade Brownie Troop #1738 had their year-end party.
Second-Grade Brownie Troop #1738 celebrated their successes and accomplishments this year with a party at Orlando Archery Academy. All girls earned their Archery Brownie Try-It Badge.
India Fest
India Fest was here! 6th graders enjoyed India Fest with a celebration of Indian heritage and culture that explored customs, beliefs, fashion, food, and dance. This is an annual celebration hosted by the 6th grade parents, with this year's amazing coordinator being Ms. Hans (mom of super senior Anika Hans). The week began with students invited for a Henna Night on Tuesday and today ended with the Festival of Colors.
