Every week students are exploring a variety of academics, technology, and the arts. Please enjoy some of our favorite traditions and new traditions happening at Park Maitland School.
Thank you to all our students and staff who celebrated Sports Day today! We are proud of Park Maitland School for all your help contributing to World Central Kitchen, which has been providing 50k meals a day to everyone in the New Orleans area, and the Cajun Navy Foundation, the first responders that have been working day in and day out to provide relief from Hurricane Ida. Today we help raise $1500.00! A huge thank you to Aiden Szubinksi and the Szubinski family for their help in raising awareness and matching all donated funds.
Daisy to Brownie Ceremony
Last night, Park Maitland School hosted the Daisy to Brownie Bridging Ceremony for Girl Scout Troop #1738. These second grade girls worked hard to earn each of their Daisy Petals (during K5 and 1st grade) and have now officially bridged to become Brownies in a timeless Girl Scout tradition. K4
It was a perfect day for a Teddy Bear Picnic! K4 students walked through a hidden pathway in our school campus to enjoy a picnic with their teddy bears or favorite stuffed toy. They sipped refreshing pink lemonade and yummy snacks to enjoy their morning with their friends.
TINKERING LAB
This week in Tinkering Lab, Ms. Trombley's class read the story, Rosie Revere, Engineer, by Andrea Beaty. Students collaborated through the engineering process with a partner. The end goal will be for our partnered students to create a flying machine that has wings, helping Rosie Revere go down the zipline.
