Welcome to Scouting Webinar:
A Session for Incoming Volunteers and Anyone Interested

We know that COVID-19 has been a huge disruption for everyone from all walks of life. We also know that Scouting has been a gift to the youth of our communities during the pandemic, and we know that volunteering now with Scouts Canada is more important than ever before.

Do you know someone who would be a fantastic Hawkeye, intrepid Akela, or all-around wonderful scouter? Are there parents in your group who may be on the fence about jumping in as a volunteer? Do you maybe have a neighbour looking to put their energies into something fulfilling?

Please invite them to our upcoming session!

Join Council Youth Commissioner Jason and Council Relationship Manager Nikki on Thursday December 3rd at 7 pm on Zoom to learn more about the many benefits to becoming a volunteer with Scouts Canada and enriching the lives of youth in your community

In our session, we'll discuss:

1.      Shining Waters, Scouts Canada: Welcome to our team
2.     The benefits of volunteering with Scouts Canada
3.     Pragmatic stuff: the screening and readiness process
4.     Your journey as a new scouter – year 0-1 (looking ahead to Wood Badge 1)
5.     Q and A

All are welcome to join us in this session :)

Holiday Season Service Projects: Win Campfire Mugs for your Group

Hey Shining Waters! Is your group currently planning an awesome holiday service project? Maybe you're organizing a contact-less food drive or sending cards to seniors, or collecting blankets for animal shelters. Or perhaps you're a youth member working on your top section award?

Whatever your project is, share it with us! Connect with us on Instagram @swcscouts and use the hashtag #swcgives. Share on our Facebook page, too - but don't forget to use the hashtag and tag us as well!

Three groups (yes, three!) will be randomly selected this holiday season when using the #swcgives hashtag and sharing their good turns and service projects to win (drumroll!) awesome, one of a kind enamel camp mugs (artwork pending!) All members in the group participating in the project will receive one, Scouters included!

Don't delay: the contest will close on Friday December 18th at 8 pm!
