NEWS FROM ORUMC
5/25/2023
Dear Oak Ridge Church Family,

It was a great Confirmation Sunday! What a special event as we watched and listened to each confirmand remembering their baptism when God first claimed them. We were blessed to hear the confirmands profess Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior! They each also answered, “What does Jesus mean to you”? What a blessing!

How would you answer that question? Jesus is my all in all. Jesus is the vine and I am just a branch. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

This Sunday is Pentecost, the birthday of the church, and when the disciples received the power of the Holy Spirit. We wear red on this Sunday to symbolize the tongues of fire where the disciples were speaking different languages. I hope and pray that this Sunday we experience a powerful rushing wind fanning the flame of Jesus Christ living inside of all of us!

Take care and God Bless,

Pastor Mike

Calling all families of upcoming high school or college Graduates! We would like some information from you so we as a church can recognize and celebrate your student well. Our Graduate Sunday services will be held at 9:00am and 11:00am on Sunday June 4. To be featured in our special program or church newsletter, we need the following information from you by Friday May 26:

  • School Graduating From
  • Degree Received (college)
  • School the student plans to attend, and any intended major or activity (high school)
  • Parents Names
  • If able to attend church on June 4, which service would student attend?
  • One "senior picture" or "profile picture" to be featured next to their name

Additionally, high school seniors are invited to submit 8-10 pictures chosen from their growing up years until senior year, to be featured in a special slideshow as a part of the high school portion of the service.
