How blessed we at Oak Ridge UMC have been to partner with Baker Lawrimore in music ministry this year. We pray God's blessing on his new ministry as he and Addison return to their home church. We pray our paths will continue to cross as we serve Christ.

Donate a Book

Update:

Prior to February 2020, every 3 weeks, for 7 years I arrived at each of the 18 pods in our jail with a book cart; so, our 500+ men and women could exchange their books. The last 6 months, they had no reading materials to help forget about life.

Great news! Book request forms went out this week! No cart; but, they’ll request on-line, and I’ll reply through the mail room.


Needs:

Donation of PAPERBACKS: Patterson, Grisham, Kuntz, Lee Child, David Baldacci, Vince Flynn, Stuart Woods, Harlan Coben, Clive Cussler, King, Ann Rule and Sidney Sheldon. Plus SciFi and Non-Fiction.

Purchase Books: At McKay and in Mebane; after much use, the books wear out and need to be replaced.

We are offering congregants the opportunity to work the reception desk for two hours once a week.
You will receive training for phones and other machines for any task you are asked to complete.

You can drop off at the Donation Station in the Church lobby.


The Backpack Ministry is gearing up to start delivering again, and we are anticipating over 220 students. If you are interested in volunteering please email us at [email protected]. Thank you for your continued support.

FLU Shot
This year’s Flu Clinic at ORUMC will not be held, however the vaccine is available at CVS. Congregational Nurse
Jerry Chance strongly urges everyone to get flu shots early this year, due to expectations that clinics will run out of the vaccine.
