Come Join Us For Some "Weird Science” Cub Day Camp at our GLAAC Camps this Summer
Come join us for three different weeks of Cub Day Camp at our GLAAC camps this summer. At Camp Trask in Monrovia there will be two week-long Twilight Camps in the late afternoon and early evening. The Day Camp at Trask will be happening the weeks of June 21-25 and July 19-23. At our Cabrillo Youth Center a full-day Cub Day Camp program will be held with lots of fun around the camp. That Day Camp will be the week of July 12-16 and there will be a Special Tiger and Adult Partner Day at Cabrillo on July 16.

The theme this year is "Weird Science!" The activities will be appropriate to each camp and length of session but could include swimming, boating, shooting sports, nature, handicraft and, of course, "Weird Science!" The program is open to Wolves, Bears and Webelos/ AOL. At the Trask program Parents/ guardians who are staying during the program will also be able to enjoy their own program if they wish. We ask only that the Adults show proof of their current Youth Protection Training.

One of the BSA’s Rarest Awards Goes to the Scouts Who Make the Biggest Impact
The BSA Distinguished Conservation Service Awards recognize Scouts and adults who have produced long-standing, significant impacts on the environment.

It’s a lot of work to earn Eagle. It’s also a lot to earn a BSA Distinguished Conservation Service Award. You must provide clear, written evidence that you planned, led and carried out two substantial long-term projects. (One of the projects can also serve as your Eagle Scout project, assuming it is related to conservation.) We’re here to tell you: It can be done.

Click here for more information about the Distinguished Conservation Service Award.
If you are interested in earning this award, please contact Ross Arnold, the GLAAC DCSA Committee Chair at Rossarnold1213@gmail.com before you begin.
Here are some ideas for Summer of Service projects

If your Scout has read this month’s issue of Scout Life magazine, he or she would’ve seen senior editor Aaron Derr’s story on BSA’s Summer of Service campaign. Read More
