Scouting for Food "COVID STYLE" Holiday Edition
GLAAC will be hosting the final Scouting for Food of 2020 on December 19th. I am currently looking for hosts for this event. Hosts can be individual Scout families, a Pack, Troop, Crew, Ship, or Lodge that can host at their charter location (with COVID distancing in place). GLAAC would love to have representation from each district. The need is great & the more hosts we have, the better we can do! Please reach out to me at cissie.andrews@hotmail.com if you would like to host or participate.
Scouting for Food - Photo Recap (November 14, 2020)

I am thankful for the 23 hosts for Saturday's Scouting for Food.

I am thankful to each scout, Scouters, and Friends that generously donated food, toiletries, and clothing.

I am thankful that many tummies will be filled and hearts warmed by your generosity.

I am thankful that with over 6,140 pounds of food collected, families will be able to celebrate Thanksgiving without worrying where their meal will come from.

Most of all, I am thankful that Scouts are creating young people who are always willing to be helpful, friendly, kind, cheerful as they do their Scouting Good Turn.

Happy Thanksgiving!

COVID-19 Protocols - Camp Usage (Day Use) and Switching Cohorts
NOVEMBER 18, 2020

Since September the Greater Los Angeles Area Council has recommended that units consider utilizing Council properties for den and patrol meetings using day camp protocols. Events under the Council day camp setting are governed by LA County day camp protocols. The County allows activities in a day camp setting under direct Council supervision. In the day camp setting, skill development and learning are a contemplated activity.

Starting December 5, 2020, we will strengthen our available meeting times for Den/Patrol meetings and activities at Cabrillo, Cushman Watt Park, Firestone and Trask. Pack and Troop leadership will be able to reserve a four-hour time block for their dens/patrols at one of the four facilities mentioned above, subject to our Covid protocols. Look for the reservation links to go live on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Learn More
