Small Group Reopening Webinar Recap Video and Presentation
On the evening of 9/2, the members of our Council program team held a meeting to outline further guidance in our preparations to reopen program. Over 500 members of our Scouting community were in attendance as we unveiled what we know, what programs are currently available, and what programs that we anticipate to be available. We have created this chart to help units make decisions on the programs they will provide in the coming weeks and months. Membership Recruitment Contest

2021 Summer Resident Camp Reservations
We are looking forward to the 2021 season now more than ever as we’re hopeful the “COVID-19” is apart of our past. Scouts BSA Summer Resident Camp reservations are now first come first serve. This means if you haven’t booked the same week, another unit has the opportunity to reserve your camp. Reserve Now
GLAAC Scouting for Food “Covid Style”
The need for food has never been more critical than during this pandemic. So many in our local communities have become food insecure. Now is our chance to do our daily good turn.

On September 12th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., GLAAC will host Scouting for Food at multiple locations throughout our council area. We are excited to add Scouting for Food as a regular part of our annual Scouting program moving forward. Read More

Updated Advancement Guidance
National's COVID FAQ Page was updated this weekend to address continuing concerns about Cub advancement, long term camping, aquatics requirements, Camping Merit Badge requirements, and Scouts BSA rank advancement. 

You can find all the changes by scanning for diamond symbols before questions.
Scouts Eligible for DEA Red Ribbon Patches
This Patch Program is designed to provide Scouts the opportunity to earn a patch by performing anti-drug activities to commemorate Red Ribbon Week.

The patch program seeks to empower young people to create, embrace, and strengthen their drug free beliefs. 
Are You Looking for Ways to Jazz Up Your Virtual Meetings?
Have you been hearing the expression, “Zoomed out,” I know I have? We are all sitting in front of our computers in Zoom Meetings for school, work, and Scouting and we are all getting a little Zoomed out. During the Council Coordinating Meeting that took place this past Saturday, there was a great deal of conversation about how much time our Scouts spend Zooming for school and then for Scouting. Virtual 5K & 10k! Run - 9/4-11/2020
We are excited to announce our first Scouts on the Run partnered with Western Los Angeles County Council! Join us on a virtual 5K and 10k! What is Scouts on the Run? It’s a virtual 5k and 10k which allows Scouts, youth, and families to participate whether they run on a treadmill, jog around the neighborhood, or walk around the block. Or you can even run from your couch. Just make sure you follow social distancing guidelines. Sign up today!
Interested in Law Merit Badge?
Saturday, November 14 from 9am until 4:00pm come check out a unique experience that allows Scouts interested in legal careers to complete the requirements for Scouting's Law Merit Badge. It will provide Scouts with an understanding of criminal law, civil law, legal history and the opportunity to participate in a mock trail. Click here for more information and registration.
