This week's pet of the week is Sommelier! Sommelier is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair brown tabby with a refined yet playful personality. She’s looking for a home with adults or teens where she can truly relax and be herself. She would love safe indoor/outdoor access or a cozy catio to lounge in. While she seems unbothered by other cats nearby, we’re still learning how she’d do with feline housemates. Fun fact: Sommelier was a devoted mom to six kittens — affectionately nicknamed her “bottles of wine.” Now that her kittens are grown, it’s her turn to enjoy the good life! If you’re looking for a sweet, independent companion to share your home (and maybe your glass of wine evenings), Sommelier might be your perfect match.
Shelter Updates
Thanksgiving
The shelter will be closed on Thursday, November 27th, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Although the shelter will be closed, we still welcome volunteers. The staff and the animals would be very grateful! If you are unable to come in on Thanksgiving but are normally scheduled on Thursdays, please do let Skylar know so she can make staff aware. Thank you, and we hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving filled with all the yummy food!
New Blanket Storage
All clean blankets will temporarily be stored in the volunteer sign-in room, in the space to the right of the volunteer lockers. Everything is organized in bins to keep items protected and easy to find. If you need help retrieving a bin from the shelving, please don’t hesitate to ask a staff member; we’re happy to assist.
This setup is only temporary while we continue reorganizing and work toward a more permanent storage solution. Thank you again for your flexibility and patience!

Shy Cats - We currently have several cats in our care who are emotionally undersocialized. Please take things slowly with our shy friends and be extra mindful of their body language. Many of them are easily frightened by quick movements or loud noises, so quiet voices, calm energy, and patience make all the difference.
Every gentle interaction helps build their trust and confidence. Thank you for taking the time to go at their pace and help them feel safe!
