The featured movie will be Hester Street, a 1975 romantic black-and-white film which tells the story of Jewish immigrants who come to the Lower East Side of New York City in 1896 from Eastern Europe, and live on Hester Street in Manhattan. The film is noteworthy for its detailed reconstruction of Jewish immigrant life in New York at the turn of the century - much of the dialogue is delivered in Yiddish with English subtitles. In 2011, Hester Street was added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.

Congregation Kol Shalom is planning a Havdalah service and a special concert!

After Havdalah, we will welcome Nefesh Mountain, a singing duo that combines Bluegrass and Jewish musical styles, often singing in Hebrew. We will be listening to the husband and wife team of Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff right in the comfort of our own homes via Zoom.

Registration will be required so we know who is attending. You will receive information on how to register as the date gets closer.

This concert is being underwritten by a generous donation from a congregant and is greatly appreciated!
