This week's Hometown Hero is Jenna Lea Rosen. Jenna is a singer, dancer and actress who does voice work on the Disney Channel as well as being a proud Seal Beach Girl.
This Saturday Jenna performed her sixth #Quarantunes “Porch Concert” delighting the crowd of Herron Point neighbors and honoring Seal Beach’s first responders and essential workers. Both the Seal Beach Police and Firefighters showed up to be serenaded and were bowled over by Jenna’s voice and authentic gratitude for their service. Jenna also offered special thanks to all essential workers including teachers, which honors both her mother and grandmother as well as doctors such as her step-father.
Jenna's four song concert had an intentional patriotic theme. She opened with a breathtaking version of the Star Spangled Banner, something she had previously performed for the current Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs last winter as well as the LA Galaxy. Jenna and her friend Sydney DeMaria, a musical theater student at Pepperdine University, reunited for a Wicked Duet that was originally performed in SoundFX, the grand national champion, Los Alamitos High School Show Choir. The concert culminated in a sign-a-long to God Bless America, allowing everyone in attendance to lift their voices and honor our first responders and essential workers.
If you’d like to catch all six of these amazing “Porch Concerts” including one with Sarah Uriarte Berry who is performing her own porch concerts in Long Beach, you can find links on her Instagram and Facebook accounts under Jenna Lea Rosen. Special thanks to Jenna Lea Rosen and the Hoppus-Werner Family for choosing to make a difference during this time.
