Rav Yitzchok Zev Haleivi Soloveitzik Zatzal (1886-1959)
His Yahrtzeit Is on Erev Yom Kippur, 9 Tishrei
Rav Yitzchak Zev Soloveichik (Rav Velvel) of Brisk, is also referred to as "The Brisker Rav". He was the son and most prominent disciple of Rav Chaim Solevetchik, Rav Chaim Brisker.
He succeeded his father as the Rav of Brisk.
He survived WWII and moved to Eretz Yisroel, where he reestablished the Brisk Yeshiva and was regarded by the Torah world as one of the leading Gedolei Hador and transmitters of the Mesorah.
