WEEKLY TRAFFIC CALMING UPDATE
WEEK OF 11/11/16

At the regular Council meeting this past Monday, November 7th, the Village Council passed a resolution for the continued installation of permanent speed tables in various sections throughout the Village. The approved work is part of the Village-wide comprehensive traffic calming plan. The areas include:
  • SW 162nd Street between SW 74th Avenue and 77th Avenue
  • SW 176th Street between SW 78th Avenue and SW 80th Court
  • SW 157th Terrace between SW 75th Avenue and Old Cutler Road
  • SW 148th Street between SW 74th Avenue and Old Cutler Road
  • SW 92nd Avenue between SW 174th Street and SW 168th Street 
  • SW 93rd Avenue between SW 174th Street and SW 168th Street
Work that was previously approved by the Council will continue next week.  Williams Paving Company will complete the installation of the permanent speed tables on SW 86th Avenue and begin construction of 2 tables on SW 94th Avenue between SW 184th and SW 181st Street. Lastly, 3 tables will be completed on SW 148th Street between US-1 and SW 87th Avenue.
 
As of November 9, 2016, new speed tables and required new signage with temporary striping have been installed on SW 174th Street between Old Cutler Rd and SW 77th Avenue, SW 84th Avenue between SW 168th Street and SW 180th Street, SW 165th Terrace between SW 84th Avenue and 82nd Court, SW 83rd Avenue between SW 168th Street and 165th Terrace, and on SW 93rd Avenue between SW 176th Street and SW 183rd Terrace. In addition, 1 speed hump has been installed on SW 86th Avenue between SW 172nd Street and SW 174th Street. 
 

Road closure/detour information:
The Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department is installing a 6” DI pipe along SW 163 Street between SW 80 and 82 Avenues on Friday, November 11 and Saturday November 12, 2016. Work will also take place at the pump station site adjacent to Southwood Middle School to avoid conflicts with school operational hours. The construction work will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
