WEEKLY TRAFFIC CALMING UPDATE
WEEK OF 12/2/16

Speed Tables: Installation of the permanent speed tables on SW 87th Court between SW 168th Street and SW 174th Street began earlier this week and are expected to be completed next week. Removal of the temporary speed tables installed on Farmer Road between Old Cutler Road and SW 136th Street will take place next week. Temporary street closures and delays are expected. Please use caution when driving these areas.

Palmer Trinity School Improvement Project: Roadwork on SW 184th Street and Old Cutler Road continues as part of the Palmer Trinity School Improvement Project. The roadwork should be completed by December 15. One southbound lane on Old Cutler will remain closed, but traffic will stay open through the southbound turn lane. Please expect delays in the area throughout the duration of the project; see proposed detour map.

Traffic Calming Plan: In order to better gauge traffic within Palmetto Bay, the Village's traffic engineer Marlin Engineering, has installed traffic counters throughout District 1 (SW 136 Street south to SW 152 Street, including all of Royal Harbor Yacht Club and Paradise Point). The traffic counters will remain in place through Monday, December 12.

On Monday, December 12 from 7-9 pm, District 3 (SW 168 Street extending south to SW 184 Street) residents are invited to participate in a public traffic meeting with Marlin Engineering to discuss traffic issues within your district such as speeding, volume/congestion, safety, and cut-through traffic in Village Hall. The public meetings for the Districts 1 & 2 are as follows:

  • District 2 Residents (SW 152 Street, excluding all of Royal Harbor Yacht Club and Paradise Point, extending south to SW 168 Street):
    December 15, 2016 from 7-9 pm at Village Hall
  • District 1 Residents (SW 136 Street south to SW 152 Street, including all of Royal Harbor Yacht Club and Paradise Point):
    December 20, 2016 from 7-9 pm at Village Hall
