Traffic Calming and Redirection Plan: As previously reported, the first phase of the Traffic Calming and Redirection Plan has been completed and the Village is looking for your comments and feedback on the data collected. 

Everyone is encouraged to attend three district-specific public meetings designed to give residents the opportunity to review and discuss the data collected.

Meeting dates have been scheduled as provided below.  All three meetings will be held at Village Hall, starting at 7 pm.  

  • Tuesday, April 4th:  District 1 Residents (SW 136 Street south to SW 152 Street, including all of Royal Harbor Yacht Club and Paradise Point)
  • Tuesday, April 11th District 3 Residents (SW 168 Street extending south to SW 184 Street)
  • Tuesday, April 18th:  District 2 Residents (SW 152 Street, excluding all of Royal Harbor Yacht Club and Paradise Point, extending south to SW 168 Street)

Town Hall Meeting with County Chairman Esteban L. Bovo: County Commission Chairman Esteban L. Bovo, Jr., (District 13) is hosting a Town Hall Meeting at Village Hall on Thursday, April 20th at 7 pm to discuss mass transit and answer any questions from residents.  Please mark your calendars and let's continue to press for mass transit in South Dade.

Temporary Speed Hump Installations: Our Public Services staff has completed the installation of temporary speed humps in the area of SW 167 Street between 74 Avenue and Old Cutler Road and the crew has continued the installation of other temporary speed humps throughout this week for SW 147 Street between 74-75 Avenues.

Next week, staff will proceed with the installation of new temporary speed humps on SW 78 Avenue between SW 144 Street and 139 Terrace.  Work should be completed within a week and, as a result, minor traffic delays are expected in these areas. Please contact the Public Services Department at 305-969-5011 if you have any questions about the Temporary Speed Hump program, or are interested in having them installed in your neighborhood.
