Dear Parents,

I hope you had a lovely holiday weekend. Easter is a time of rebirth, joy and transcendence and my prayer is that you celebrated your true love and connection with other family members across the county via Zoom or the phone to let them know how much you care. We were blessed with beautiful weather on Sunday and sunshine seemed to bring the world back to life and brighten our spirits, even while maintaining a safe distance.

Our class schedule seemed to run very smoothly last week and I would like to thank our Campus Ministry team for providing a beautiful Holy Thursday prayer service that many members of our community enjoyed. In the weeks to come, we will continue to schedule new events for the MC community so that we can learn, laugh and remain close during this period.

Thank you for your prayers and support,

John K. Thornburg

What's New?
An Update from Mr. Smith
It’s hard to believe that we are in the fifth week of distance learning and I truly miss greeting everyone as they pass through the halls throughout the day. Our faculty's effort to develop engaging, sound content for our student body has been outstanding. Student attendance and participation has been equally impressive and we look for that to continue this week. We are following up with anyone who misses a class, so please let us know in advance if your student will be absent. We also hope and pray that our students, families, faculty, staff, and alumni continue to observe the safe practices outlined by our Government officials and health care professionals so that we can do our part in flattening the curve. Everyone misses being at MC but we will adapt, overcome, and persevere through this pandemic!

Stay safe and God bless,

Jeff Smith
Assistant Principal for Student Life, Director of Safety and Security

Workout with Coach Joe Meloni
Let's give a big thanks to Malden Catholic's Strength and Conditioning Coach, Joe Meloni, for providing us with an at-home workout video. It's helpful to set a regular schedule and spend at least twenty minutes exercising while at home. Click the video to participate in these workouts.
MC Heroes and Local Businesses
We know that everyone is facing their own unique stress and challenges during this crisis. We also know that our MC community is strong and always willing and able to rise to the occasion! So many of our current MC family and Alumni on the front line, we want to share their inspirational stories and include these heroes in a prayer chain. If you are a MC front line worker or know one, please contact Sarah Hamilton by sending an email to hamiltons@maldencatholic.org.

We also want to support our current and alumni family small businesses. If you are an alumni with a restaurant that is currently open for delivery or carry out, please send your name and class year, restaurant name, hours and website to hamiltons@maldencatholic.org so that we can share the information.

Help Support Bread of Life
Bread of Life, the community food pantry in Malden, is continuing to serve families with take-out meals and grocery deliveries during this time of crisis. Unfortunately, their supplies are very low. MC students have joined together to raise funds for those who cannot feed their families. The students are trying to raise $1,000 through the Fundly account below and we are almost half way there. If you can help donate money for Bread of Life, please click on the Fundly link below. The account is open for the rest of this week.
