How Loud Is Your Dogma?
In 2017, Amy Coney Barrett, a law professor at Notre Dame Law School, was before the United States Senate committee concerning her confirmation for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In that hearing a senator commented on her Christian faith, saying, “The dogma lives loudly in you.” In other words, the senator was saying that Barrett’s Christian faith was evident because she was active in her church and spoke openly of her Christian values. This worried the senator.
Do we live our dogma loudly? Dogma is what you believe. Technically, everyone has a dogma. People with a religious faith have a dogma. Atheists have a dogma. Communists and capitalists have a dogma.
Again, do we live our dogma loudly? I pray that I do! Jesus calls us to be a light for this dark world. He calls us to be salt to season a twisted generation. In other words, Jesus calls us to live our dogma loudly.
We live loudly when we worship together in the Lord’s house. We live loudly when we have family devotions. We live loudly when we engage our Christian values in our everyday lives. We live loudly when we treat others with respect and put their needs before our own. We live loudly when we live for the Lord!
Pray that the Lord would give you a spirit to live the beautiful dogma in your heart.
Thanks for your partnership,
Pastor Raasch

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.” (Psalm 138:7) Let me care for you—these words can bring a sigh of relief to people going through difficult times in life. A Stephen Minister is willing and able to care for you by listening and being there while you work through this tough time. If this is the kind of care you or a friend would like to receive, please call Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. Remember to ask permission before reporting someone else’s need. .
