FIRST IMMANUEL LUTHERAN MINISTRIES
First Immanuel Campus Cedarburg ~ River of Life Campus Saukville

In response to God, who reached down to us - the mission of First Immanuel Lutheran Ministries is to reach up to God, reach in to each other and reach out to the world.
|
|
We all need a place “where everybody knows your name.” We yearn for it, crave it. Humans are social creatures, embedded in families and communities and countries.
Using the frame of Reach Groups, mentoring, and our homes, we will address what it means to know and to be fully known, in light of Jesus' love. Join us this June in worship for worship services sure to bless you and those in your community.

Praying for the Future
I would say that each one of us is experienced in praying for the future. When we, or someone we love, is going in for a medical test or procedure, we pray that all will be well. Following a job interview that we feel would be a perfect fit, we pray the position is offered to us. As we prepare to hit the road for vacation we pray for safety.
I propose a different way to pray for the future. Last week, Pastor Seban encouraged us to pray for people we don’t know. I want to continue that theme, by asking you to pray for those who are graduating from grade school, high school or college. Don’t just pray for the students you know. Pray for all of them. Pray that they would hone their talents. Pray that they would grow in wisdom. Pray that they would become active members of the community.
Think of it this way: The young people who are being educated today will be tomorrow’s doctor, police officer, lawyer, pastor, car mechanic, bus driver, store clerk. These are people who will be serving you in the years to come.
So pray for them. Pray that they would know the Lord. Pray that they would understand work to be a service to others. Pray that they would find joy and fulfillment in their work. They need your prayers.
Thanks for your partnership in prayer,
Pastor Raasch

PRAYING FOR YOURSELF
Reflect on what is on your heart and mind and take it to God in prayer.
Is there something we can pray about for you?

-
All who battle cancer, including Marilyn Aussprung, Jim Melichar, Pastor Joel Brandt, Bob Harrer, Adrian Buntrock, Gary Bergin, Wayne Kokta, and Tammy Schleuter. Pray that the Lord would bless their treatments, relieve their pain and strengthen them and their families in faith.
-
Eugene Bentley, Eileen Siegel, Lillian Pergande, Lori Bebninster, Audrey Pelzer and Mary & Jim Heiman as they contend with ongoing health issues. Pray for their medical teams, that God would bless them and use them as His instruments of healing.
-
Josh Loppnow and family on the passing of Josh’s father. Give thanks for the gift of eternal life through the work and the grace of Jesus. Pray that the Loppnow family would find peace in the promise of eternal life for all who live in Jesus.
-
Give thanks to the Lord for the faithful work of Nancy Beck, who served on our facilities team for the past 12 years. Pray for the Lord’s guidance in her new employment.

PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS
Our June Mission of the Month is
The Youth Service Event
Our First Immanuel Lutheran Youth will be traveling to Keweenaw Base Camp in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on August 1st to help with construction of two cabins that will be used for the camp's summer youth programs. FIL youth will also be involved in some community outreach during their five day stay at the camp. The goal is to raise $6000 to pay for materials for one cabin. Please pray for our youth and this mission project.

“…praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.” Ephesians 6:18a As members of a Stephen Ministry congregation, you are encouraged to pray that people be sensitive to caring needs around them at church, home, work, and elsewhere, responding with a caring, listening ear and referring people to Stephen Ministry when appropriate. Pray that people be open to receiving care from others, recognizing that God intended us not only to love and care for others, but also to be loved and cared for by others. Pray that people always think of Stephen Ministry as a way they and people they know can receive care when facing life’s difficulties. For more information about Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone else, please contact Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. A care receiver does not need to be a member of First Immanuel or River of Life.
