What If…?
Have you ever had a case of the “What If’s?” We look at a situation and wonder what life would be like if something else had taken place. It goes like this, “What if COVID never entered the world. Would our economy have continued to soar?”
“What if” is an interesting term. It makes us think what might have been. Maybe you have employed this term. “What if I had finished college? Then I’d have a better job!” “What if I invested in Apple stock? Then I’d be rich!” “What if I had taken that other job? Then I’d be happier!”
It seems that each time we use the term, “What if,” we think of things that could have been. Let’s try this term from another perspective:
· What if we only received from God what we pray for?
· What if we receive today only those things for which we gave thanks yesterday?
· What if we were never given the gift of prayer?
As we move closer to Thanksgiving, let’s avoid the “What If’s” and turn to “Because.”
· Because God is generous I have everything I need to this life.
· Because God is loving I have eternal life waiting for me in heaven.
· Because God is all powerful He uses even the challenging things of life for good.
· Because God is in total control, we don’t have to say, “What if?”
The truth is that we don’t have to worry about these “What ifs.” God loves us unconditionally! God gives us more than we ask or imagine! God invites and encourages us to pray…and so we do!
Thanks for your partnership,
Pastor Raasch

“Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment…” (1 Timothy 6:6a) For each of us a time comes when we look back and wonder whether we should have done things differently, whether perhaps we should make a change somehow. If this question enters your mind more and more frequently, you can benefit from the caring, listening presence of a Stephen Minister. If you would like more information on Stephen Ministry or you would like to receive the love and care of a Stephen Ministry, please contact Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. Please ask for permission before reporting a friend’s need.
