JULY SERMON SERIES
PIVOT

After the craziness of Covid, we are all having to pivot to a new normal. We are trying to figure out what life, relationships, work, money, etc. look like.

Romans 8 is a pivot chapter in the book of Romans. Everything hinges on this. Our new life in Christ is marked with life and peace instead of chaos and death. We are marked with freedom instead of slavery. We pivot from worry into prayer. We pivot from condemnation to victory. What an essential chapter for us to be immersing ourselves in this summer!

  • July 5: Pivot into Peace
  • July 11/12: Pivot into Freedom
  • July 18/19: Pivot into Hope
  • July 25/26: Pivot into Victory

“Foundations Unseen”
Some of the finishing touches are underway in our new building, especially on the second floor. Walls are painted. Lighting is mounted. Ceiling tiles and carpets are set in place. Cabinetry is installed. All of these beautiful items, which are so necessary in the function of the building, are now covering the cement foundation and the steel superstructure. Although the cement and steel can no longer be seen, they remain the most important part of our building. These two elements will give our building the strength it needs for generations to come.
Humans are similar. We earn high school and college degrees as we advance our education and intellect. We build fine homes and drive classy cars. Our homes are surrounded by manicured lawns and our bodies are adorned by designer clothing. We can speak with eloquence and move in all the right circles with grace. We can climb to positions of authority and assume great responsibility.
This is all good and fine, however, most important are these two foundational pieces: faith and integrity. Faith in Jesus Christ alone is our worth. It is faith in Jesus that stimulates our thoughts, instigates our words and motivates our actions. All we do is because of who we are in Christ Jesus. He is our life. Integrity is foundational because it is the true marker of living the Christian faith.  C.S. Lewis put it this way, “Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.”
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move you to live your faith each day…even when no one is looking.
Blessings,

          Pastor Raasch

  PRAYING FOR YOURSELF
Reflect on what is on your heart and mind and take it to God in prayer.

Is there something we can pray about for you?
Praying for One Another
  • All who battle cancer, including Cindy Steffen, Dick Rupert, Wayne Kokta, Gary Bergin, Kathy Schmidt, Jim Melichar and Pastor Joel Brandt.   Pray that the Lord would bless their treatments, relieve their pain and strengthen them and their families in faith.
  • Betty Twietmeyer, Ron Grob, Julie Taylor, Tom Zahn, Dick Larson, Jim Ruppel,   Scott Rank and Tom Giordano as they contend with ongoing health issues. Pray for their medical teams, that God would bless them and use them as His instruments of healing.
  • Lori Rosenberg, who received a heart and is now home! Give thanks for the healing that has already taken place.
  • The family of Dean Zimmerman, whom the Lord called to eternal life. Give thanks for Dean’s faith and the many ways he was involved in our ministry over the years. Thank the Lord for the gift of eternal life that comes by faith in Jesus.
  • Andy Bruss, who was hit by a car while bicycling and sustained significant injuries. Pray for healing and peace for Andy and his family.

MISSION OF THE MONTH
STEPHEN MINISTRY MOMENT
“Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.” 1 Thessalonians 4:9 When you see people who are sad, lonely, or grief-stricken, don’t just tell them that you care—show them that you care! Ask how they are, listen to what they have to say, and share the love of Jesus. And if their need is great, encourage them to consider Stephen Ministry as a way to receive the transforming love and care of Jesus. Show them you care and you can make a real difference in their lives. They may contact Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610 or, after asking permission, you may make a referral.
