Thankful Anyway?
Are you exhausted, anxious, frazzled or bitter? So many of our routines, habits, and enjoyable opportunities have been cancelled. It may be a little tougher to be thankful this year. Yet we are called to be Thankful Anyway.
When we are faced with challenging times we are encouraged, as the old hymn says, to “Take it to the Lord in prayer.” Paul writes in Philippians 4:6, “… do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Praying and being thankful go hand in hand. Take a few moments to slow down and be thankful. You can use these ideas or come up with your own ways to be thankful anyway.
· Gracious Lord, I thank you for (insert name) who…
· Provider of all good things, I am thankful for the many blessings you have provided for me (and my family) including…
· Giver of Life, even in these challenging times we are thankful for the breath of life you give us each day. Remind us that every day “is a day that you have made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
· Creator of the Universe, you designed a world perfectly provide for us. Today I thank you for the little things I so often take for granted, including…
· Lord, we thank you for the victory we have in Jesus, and the hope we have of eternal life for everyone who believes!
Thanks for your partnership,
Pastor Seban

PRAYING FOR YOURSELF
Reflect on what is on your heart and mind and take it to God in prayer.
Is there something we can pray about for you?
|
|
-
All who battle cancer, including Dick Rupert, Peggy Jaeger, Wayne Kokta, Gary Bergin, Cindy Steffen, Jim Melichar, Pastor Joel Brandt, Jayne Peterson and Tim Koehler. Pray that the Lord would bless their treatments, relieve their pain and strengthen them and their families in faith.
-
Dick Larson, Betty Wolfgram, Lois Bublitz, Fred Isham, Jean Greenwood, Jim Ruppel, and Craig Raatz, as they contend with ongoing health issues. Pray for their medical teams, that God would bless them and use them as His instruments of healing.

Doctors, nurses, health care providers, that God would use them as his instruments of healing and comfort.
-
For all who are anxious, exhausted or overwhelmed, that by His grace, God would bring them peace, rest and hope.

PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS
· Our Mission of the Month, Saukville and Port Washington food pantries, whose mission is to provide food for the people of our community.
· Operation Christmas Child, that God would bless the children who receive our 676 boxes, we boldly pray that the Holy Spirit would work faith in them and in others who receive a Christmas box.
· For those who teach and serve in our school, that God would grant stamina, clarity of thought, patience, and joy as they creatively teach and share the message of Jesus each day.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) “Six weeks, maybe a little more—we cannot really say.” As you look down at him in his hospital bed, memories crowd into your mind—the day you first met, a special birthday dinner, a night walk on the bicycle path. But now he is facing a terminal illness. You are facing it with him. A Stephen Minister can care for you during this time of grief and pain. For more information about Stephen Ministry, contact Pastor Reichmann in 377-6610. The care receiver does not need to be a member of First Immanuel or River of Life.
