MISSION & MINISTRY MOMENTS E-EDITION

FIRST IMMANUEL LUTHERAN MINISTRIES
First Immanuel Campus Cedarburg ~ River of Life Campus Saukville
In response to God, who reached down to us - the mission of First Immanuel Lutheran Ministries is to reach up to God, reach in to each other and reach out to the world.
Important Announcement Concerning Reopening
As you most likely know, the “Safer At Home” order has been overturned. The opportunity to open the doors of many public places has been made available. This includes churches. We all join the psalmist who said, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’”

Plans are being formulated concerning the opening of our First Immanuel, Cedarburg campus and our River of Life, Saukville campus. We want to be sure that we open again to worship and Bible studies in a safe manner. I have been in contact with state, county and local authorities for guidance. Each has proven to be helpful. I also have been in contact with our local LCMS pastors to talk about reopening. Each agrees that this must be done with care. In the next few days I will be working with our pastors, elders, Board of Lay Leaders and custodial staff to establish a plan that will assure the safety and health of our members.

This weekend we will continue to offer our worship services ONLY online, as we have for the past weeks. Communion will be offered this Sunday at First Immanuel between noon and 1:00.

Please remember us in your prayers and stay connected to First Immanuel for further details about our reopening plans.
Blessings,
  Pastor Raasch

Pastor’s Prayer Partners Petitions
A Prayer During Confusing Times
The Bible’s Book of Judges concludes with this line, In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
Sometimes that’s how it feels today. We live in a culture that believes everyone can choose for themselves what is acceptable and what isn’t. Such things as abortions and same-sex marriages are most obvious, however, lying when it is convenient and cheating so I can get ahead seem to be the order of the day.
Let’s pray that we would see the Lord as our King, the One who has established guidance so our lives would be lived in a most healthy manner.
Blessed Lord, I thank You for giving me the gift of life. It is so easy for me to believe that I have the freedom to live my life in the manner I choose. There are many times that this thinking has brought pains and problems into my life and my relationships. I have placed my wants about other’s needs. I have ignored Your commands and Your precepts, believing satisfaction. All too often I have found my life lacking. Forgive my ignorance and my arrogance. Bring me to a full realization that You bring abundant life. I also pray for our culture, that we would be moved to Your will and live according to Your way, that we may pass our time in peace and joy. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

 Thanks for your partnership,
          Pastor Raasch

  PRAYING FOR YOURSELF

Praying for One Another
  • All who battle cancer, including Dick Rupert, Ron Grob, Wayne Kokta, Gary Bergin, Kathy Schmidt, Jim Melichar and Pastor Joel Brandt.  Pray that the Lord would bless their treatments, relieve their pain and strengthen them and their families in faith.
  • Dick Larson, Ayden Last, Jim Ruppel, Alex Neumann, Jean Button, Lois Bublitz, Dee Lewis, Michael Herman, Genevieve Anschuetz, Sonia Buhrow and Katie Kubiac  as they contend with ongoing health issues. Pray for their medical teams, that God would bless them and use them as His instruments of healing.
  • Donna Tanel and her family as they mourn the passing of Donna’s mother. Pray for the peace that comes in Jesus’ promise of eternal life.
  • Tom Giordano, as he undergoes surgery this week. Pray for a successful procedure and a speedy healing process.

STEPHEN MINISTRY MOMENT
“…a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not quench…” Matthew 12:20 The Stephen Ministry logo consists of a cross with a broken person and a whole person. The broken person behind the cross symbolizes the brokenness of our lives due to our sins and imperfections. The whole person stands in front of the cross because it is only through Jesus that we are made whole. The circle symbolizes the wholeness we receive through Christ and God’s unending love for us. We are both broken and whole, and saints and sinners who need to hear and be reminded of God’s love for us. Let a Stephen Minister help you remember this as you are going through a tough time. Please call Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610 to request a Stephen Minister’s care. Remember to ask permission to refer someone else to this ministry.
