He is With Us ALWAYS!
Every child finds comfort in the presence of a parent. When storms roar into the neighborhood, waking sleepy residents with rolling thunder and flashing lightening, children run to their parent’s bed. When sitting in the doctor’s office with a burning fever, the child clings to her parent. In the midst of a tower crowd the little boy clutches a parent’s hand. Safety. Assurance. Comfort. When mom or dad are near, all is well.
As children bury themselves between their parents when a storm wakes them, they don’t ask those parents just how they will keep him safe. They trust. That’s all. They trust.
There is a reason the Lord calls us His “children.” We are called to trust. We live in the assurance that somehow, someway, the Lord will use all things in our lives for good.
As we navigate an ever-changing world, it is important for us to trust that the God who intentionally created us and placed Himself on our cross to save us for life eternal, has our best interest in mind. Even though the imperfections of the world can crash down upon us, the Lord will lift us up. St. Paul reminds us that the Lord’s grace is sufficient for us.
As we practice “social distancing,” remember that the Lord is always close. He loves us and cares for us at all times and in all situations.
    Your partner in prayer,
~ Pastor Raasch

MISSION OF THE MONTH
STEPHEN MINISTRY MOMENT
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 We are brought up to be strong, self-sufficient people. We tend to think that if we ask for help, it is a sign of weakness, so we try to keep our struggles hidden, stuffed deep inside. However, that is not God’s plan. God wants us to care for others and to allow others to care for us in our time of need. If you are sad or struggling inside, do not suffer alone. Ask for help. We have a team of Stephen Ministers who are ready to listen, care, encourage and pray, to help you through a difficult time. Men are matched with men and women with women. And it is completely confidential. To find out more about Stephen Ministry for you or someone you know, talk with Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. A care receiver need not be a member of First Immanuel or River of Life.
