little books, BIG MESSAGES
Much of the New Testament was written by the Apostle Paul, who wrote letters to churches all over the world in his time. From Romans to 2 Timothy, we God working through Paul. But another apostle was responsible for just as much of our New Testament. John wrote the book of Revelation and the Gospel bearing his name. In addition, he wrote three small letters, tucked in right before the book of Revelation. These books are relatively short, but they carry big messages.
“This is love, not that we loved God, but that God loved us…”
(1 John 4:10)
“I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father.”
(2 John 1:4)
“Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.”
(3 John 1:8 )
Love. Truth. Support.
Three imperatives in the lives of dedicated Christians. Not only do we need each of them, we need to live each of them. Come this July to hear messages on how God’s love, truth, and support impact your life and faith journey.

Being Thankful for Hope
Being a Christian does not guarantee a life free of pain and problems, disappoints or disasters. We are imperfect people, who live in an imperfect world, where imperfect things happen—even to those who deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Jesus.
Jesus is the Savior of the world. But what does this mean? Jesus is not a lucky charm that wards off the challenges of life. However, Jesus is the only One who can use all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
This means that God transforms our sufferings into endurance. Our endurance He uses to produce a strong character of Christian belief and behavior. Our character in Christ gives us hope. This hope is about forgiveness when we sin and eternal life when we die. This hope is about Jesus, who is faithful to every promise He makes concerning our eternal wellbeing.
I have a friend who once read this passage and commented that he had enough hope, enough character, enough endurance, so he didn’t need any more suffering! I’ve been there. But we live in a world of suffering and we are not immune, but we are blessed that God transforms our suffering into endurance and character and most of all, hope.
And hope never disappoints us. Offer a prayer of thanks for hope.
Thanks for your partnership in prayer,
Pastor Raasch

PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS
Our July Mission of the Month is
The Rev. Peter Kelm Memorial Lutheran School
The Rev. Peter Kelm Memorial Lutheran School reopened for its third year of instruction in January 2021 after ten months of being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The school came back strong, adding an additional grade level (now pre-K–grade 5), and rising to an enrollment of 321 students! This school is a true blessing to the village of Manso Atwere in Ghana and other surrounding villages, offering families quality education and the opportunity to daily learn about Jesus. Offerings will support the ongoing mission of the school.

“Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory.” Psalm 73:23-24 “They say it is just not safe for me anymore. I could stay with one of them or look into a place one of them knows. But it hurts not to be able to live on my own anymore—giving up some of my independence and adjusting to new routines.” Let a Stephen Minister share this difficult time with you. To find out more about Stephen Ministry or to receive a Stephen Minister’s care, contact Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. Remember to ask permission before reporting someone else’s need.
