Praying for the Unknown
Have you ever talked to a bus driver? Their stories are often laden with tales of memorable bus excursions of the past.
Yesterday, I travelled with the 7th grade students who went to outdoor education at a local camp. As our day concluded I was able to share a devotion on building a personal prayer habit. Our bus driver happened to come in and hear the devotion.
When I boarded the bus, our driver said, “You know what my prayer routine is?” I encouraged him to share and he said, “Every morning I walk through the bus and pray for every student who will sit in these seats, that the Holy Spirit would be with them.” He prays for people he doesn’t even know.
As a forgiven child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, how can we expand our prayer routines to pray for those we don’t know? Here are a few ideas:
· Those who serve in the armed forces.
· Our local police and fire departments.
· For the students of our school… or any school.
· For future church workers to be raised up.
· For Churches without pastors.
So in your prayers today, consider adding one prayer for people you don’t know. Blessings on your prayer journey.

PRAYING FOR YOURSELF
Reflect on what is on your heart and mind and take it to God in prayer.
Is there something we can pray about for you?

|
- Offer prayers of thanks for:
-
John Watt, whose cancer is in remission
-
All who battle cancer, including Marilyn Aussprung, Jim Melichar, Pastor Joel Brandt, Jayne Peterson, Bob Harrer, Adrian Buntrock, Gary Bergin, Wayne Kokta, and Tammy Schleuter. Pray that the Lord would bless their treatments, relieve their pain and strengthen them and their families in faith.
-
Eugene Bentley, Eileen Siegel, Joyce Sachse, Lillian Pergande, Lori Bebninster, Audrey Pelzer and Mary & Jim Heiman as they contend with ongoing health issues. Pray for their medical teams, that God would bless them and use them as His instruments of healing.
-
For the Men and Women of our Armed Forces: that God would bless them with courage, safety, integrity, and honor as they serve our country.
-
Marvell and Jim Ruppel who celebrate their 48th Wedding anniversary

PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS
Our May Mission of the Month is
The Joint Seminary Fund
Gifts to the LCMS Joint Seminary Fund are restricted exclusively to supporting both of our world-class seminaries—Concordia St. Louis and Concordia Ft. Wayne.
The LCMS Joint Seminary Fund raises funds for tuition to battle the rising educational costs. Those who designate gifts and bequests for LCMS Joint Seminary Fund combine vital financial resources, walking together in a way that supplies approximately $2 million annually in supplemental unrestricted funding to help educate our future pastors and other theologically-trained leaders.

“...You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 19:19b Loving and caring for each other is not just the responsibility and privilege of our pastors. It is something Jesus calls all His followers to do. Stephen Ministry is an intentional way is which people with special gifts for caring ministry can put those gifts to use, bringing Jesus’ love and care to those who are going through extra challenges in their lives. If you or someone you know would like to meet confidentially with a Stephen Minister, please call Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. Please remember to ask permission before referring someone else.
