Snow and Grace
I wasn’t ready for it. Snow! Just a couple of weeks ago it was 70-degrees and sunny. It didn’t seem fair. I have to admit, the white snow gently touching the limbs of the evergreens was beautiful.
Isaiah writes, “though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18). How beautiful it is when the grace of God gently touches the lives of repentant sinners. How amazing it is when the forgiveness of God covers the sin of man.
It is all by God’s grace. We have done nothing to earn forgiveness. In fact, “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). But God’s love for us is so deep He sent His Son to take our punishment. Now that’s not fair! But it is merciful. Jesus willingly took our sins and crucified them on the cross. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). What a friend we have in Jesus!
Take time in your prayers to give thanks to the Lord for His grace and mercy that has given you the forgiveness of sins, new life and life everlasting. How beautiful it is when the grace of God covers the sin of man.
Thanks for your partnership in prayer,
Pastor Raasch

PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS
Our April Mission of the Month is
Gideon’s International.
Over the past years we have partnered with this Christian organization, supporting their endeavor of sharing God’s Word with the world.
Gideons International is an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and by providing Bibles and New Testaments. While we are often recognized for our work with hotels, we also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17 Changes can be difficult, especially when they are unexpected. Stephen Ministers are trained to help people learn to cope with the changes that have happened in their lives and to remind them of the One who never changes. If you have experienced great and upsetting changes (or know of someone who has) and would like to learn more about the possibility of receiving the care of a Stephen Minister, please call Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. The individual need not be a member of First Immanuel or River of Life.
