From the Office of the General Assembly: Texas Hill Country Floods

Many of you have asked how you may be supportive of the recovery in the Texas hill country after the terrible floods there. The Rev. Kathy Lee-Cornell, who directs disaster response for the Synod of the Sun, offers these helpful ways in her recent blog post.

To simplify delivery, we have decided to place our 2025-2026 Presbyterian Planning Calendar order early and combine it with the 2025-2027 Book of Order.

If you would like to be included in the Presbytery Planning Calendar bulk order please complete the form below by Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Order Planning Calendars here by July 24, 2025.

Books of Order will likely come in by the end of July. Planning calendars will likely come in by the second week of August. If you have ordered Books of Order, you do not have to wait for the planning calendars to pick up your BoOs.

Feel free to call if you have any questions!

PLEASE NOTE: THE AUGUST 2 DINNER IS A SELF-FUNDED EVENT.

Greenfield Presbyterian Church is excited to announce a special matching campaign in partnership with Freedom House Detroit, which will match all donations up to $35,000.

This generous match is part of "Moore Than Matching: Rooted in Compassion, Justice, and Love," a campaign inspired by the life and values of Kathy Moore, a beloved member of Greenfield’s congregation. Kathy left behind a gift to the church, with the hope that it would be used to make a meaningful difference. The church has chosen to carry her legacy forward by supporting the residents of Freedom House Detroit.

Freedom House Detroit is a nonprofit organization that offers shelter, legal aid, and holistic support to individuals and families seeking humanitarian protection. We are one of the only programs in the country that provides long-term housing and comprehensive services to asylum seekers at no cost.

Click here to join in honoring Kathy’s legacy and in helping them reach their full match. Together, we can create safety, dignity, and new beginnings for those rebuilding their lives.

Greetings on behalf of Presbyterian Peace Fellowship' (PPF) Working Group on Palestine Solidarity.

We invite you to join us this summer in a series of three online worship services. The series, Hope and Sumud: Voices from Palestine, will take place on July 6, August 3 and September 7 at 4pm PT, 5pm MT, 6pm CT, 7pm ET. This series is hosted by Lost & Found Church, a program of PPF. Register HERE to get the Zoom link.

Stay in touch with us as we learn from -- and work in solidarity with --Palestinians. If you’d like to receive our occasional Email newsletter, sign up here for the mailing list (you will need to scroll down the page to find the list of PPF newsletters).

May we be encouraged by these words of Omar Haramy, Director of Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center.

"In Palestine, we live Sumud, a steadfastness that embodies resilience, patience, and an unwavering commitment to justice and dignity. For us, Sumud is not just resistance, it is the courage to live in the light of Christ's example, even when the weight of oppression feels unbearable.”

Gratefully,

Palestine Solidarity Working Group

Beverly Brewster, Geoff Browning, Christine Caton, Ben Daniel, David Ensign, Dexter Kearny, Tricia Lloyd-Sidle, Bob Ross, Elizbeth Simpson, Schaunel Steinnagle, Monica Styron, Barbara Swartzel
