Weekly Update
John Thornburg
Headmaster
Dear Parents,

I hope everyone has had the time to get out and take in this bright, sunny week. I know that I certainly enjoyed delivering signs to the houses of our Senior boys and having the opportunity to talk with them while maintaining appropriate social distancing. It reminded me of how much I enjoyed interacting with everyone during the school day and seeing the smiles on the students’ faces as they pass through the halls. We have had wonderful feedback regarding the personalized signs and would like to thank everyone at MC who joined in the process of developing and delivering them. It was a great day for all of us!

Next week, we will open up the school facility to seniors for an MC Visit Day on Tuesday so they can clean out their lockers, receive a Senior t-shirt, pick up their health records and safely take a photo in the courtyard with me and Brother Puccio. I will also be hosting a Coffee with the Headmaster to discuss the revised plans for graduation on Wednesday, May 20 at 4 PM. Members of our Senior Leadership Team will be there as well to answer any questions. We have incorporated the input from our survey and are excited to share the details with you for honoring our incredible Class of 2020.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

John K. Thornburg
Headmaster

MC Dance Video
In Grade 9, dance is a one-semester, arts-based course offered at Malden Catholic. Students study Foundations, History, and Movement Basics of six difference dance genres. They also learn the basics of choreography, conduct individual research for presentation and perform at MC Arts Nights.

In Grade 10, students can choose between Honors Contemporary Dance during the first semester, and Honors Jazz class during the second semester. At this level, the students may elect one or both classes and explore more deeply the genres of Contemporary and Jazz Dance. This includes performing and choreographing their own pieces based on various methods of collaboration in creativity.

We hope you enjoy this beautiful MC Grade 9 and Grade 10 video presentation created by our fantastic dance teacher, Ms. Stacie Ferreira.
