Participants will discuss the basic goals of the program, the activities they have engaged in to explore those goals, and their experience of the program. Join us for pizza and a conversation after the service.
Musical Guests

The Mitguards Chris and Deb Mitguard have been playing music throughout the West for over 20 years. Known for their wicked banter, tight harmonies, and carefully crafted compositions, The Mitguards’ original songs span a myriad of styles. Says Bill Reed of the Colorado Springs Gazette, “In his (Chris’) songwriting, Mitguard resists the urge to turn roots music into a reach for some mythical, idyllic past, and goes for a more relevant and immediate impact.” Chris’s fluid guitar is complemented by Deb’s unique and charming mandolin and accordion. The Mitguards are constantly expanding and stretching their musical repertoire, striving to balance familiar favorites with fresh, new material.

Successful Plastic Collection Drive
Jean Muller would like to thank all of you who contributed plastic during February, March and April.

The total we collected during that time was almost 25 lbs. Because of your and others’ efforts, the local chapter of American Association of University Women (AAUW) is on track to collect 500 lbs. by the end of May and will therefore be able to have a TREX bench donated to Concrete Couch this fall. Yay!

Colorado UUs for Racial Justice - Pride Parade - June 2023!!

Sign-up is now open to join us for Pride!
Please join Colorado UUs for Racial Justice to march with our LGBTQIA+ siblings this Pride season.
We are excited to be resuming this longstanding tradition among local UU congregations this summer.
We will be participating in both the Denver and Colorado Springs Pride parades this year, and we would love to have you come walk with us in either or BOTH!!
This event is fun and very family-friendly. If you’re interested in joining us, please sign up here, as this will help us to know how many to expect!
Saturday, May 20, 1 pm-4 pm - UURJ Pre-pride float with floats!

Wear your trans pride tie-dyed t-shirts, and come join us as we decorate our float for Colorado Springs and Denver pride parades! (If you didn't get a chance to make a t-shirt on May 6, bring a plain white cotton T along.) Also, there will be root beer floats!

The float will be used so that our siblings with mobility issues can be in the June Pride parades with us, and it will also include a band! We will attempt to design portable decorations so that the float can be used for both parades. Also, there could possibly be a 2nd session on June 3 if more time is necessary.

The event will be at 1 pm in Castle Rock, at the Miller Activity Complex (1375 W Plum Creek Pkwy, Castle Rock, CO 80109)! Use the flyer QR code or register here to let us know you're coming!

CURRENT HPCUU MASK POLICY

Masks will no longer be required while gathering in the sanctuary for Sunday service. HPCUU encourages members to follow current CDC recommendations that people with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. We are not checking for proof of vaccination.

We also urge the following recommended Covid safety practices:
  • Ventilating our space as much as possible/practical
  • Preserving socially distanced seating in the sanctuary during the service
  • Providing and inviting the use of masks for anyone who wants one

As always, we encourage our members and visitors to make the best decision for themselves based on their own health conditions and current data. Our congregation will make everyone feel welcomed and respected at church – including those who
choose to wear a mask and socially distance themselves.
