Grace and peace to you in the name of Christ!

This week our Learning Center began a new year with expanded classes, programs, and staff. What a joy it is to welcome new teachers, children, and families into the ministries of Christ Church.

Between playgroups, regular learning classes, and afternoon programs, our education wing is alive with the energy of children—and for that, we give thanks.

Join us this Sunday, September 7, at 9:00 AM for Outdoor Worship followed by the dedication of our new playground as a place of joy, safety, and blessing for our community.

At both the 9:00 and 11:00 AM services, we’ll also have our Blessing of the Backpacks. Children, students, and teachers bring are invited to bring your backpacks as we pray over the new school year!

We are also excited to welcome one of our congregation’s lay leaders, Bernie Annor, as our preacher this Sunday. Bernie is currently in formation with the Order of St. Stephen, Deacon (OSSD), a ministry that equips and authorizes laypeople for a ministry of Word and Service, modeled after St. Stephen, the church’s first deacon (Acts 6:1–7). We give thanks for Bernie’s faithful leadership and look forward to the message God has placed on his heart.

Congratulations to our Director of Music, Dr. Daniel Aune, and our member Kendra Hernandez, who were recently featured in Living Lutheran!

God is at work among us. We rejoice in new beginnings, celebrate our growing ministries, and give thanks for the many blessings we share as a congregation.

Blessings!

Help Us Retire the Debt

Christ Church is blessed to be meeting our current needs, but we still carry about $380,000 in remaining debt from the Elevator Project. Paying this off will free more of our resources for ministry, outreach, and preparing for future needs.

Please prayerfully consider making a special gift—above your regular giving—to help us eliminate this debt and strengthen Christ Church for the years ahead.

With gratitude,

Ken Huber, Treasurer

To see the types of equipment that’s available, visit our website CLICK HERE. You may also submit a request directly through the site. If you prefer, you can simply contact the church office for assistance.

Did you know a short Google review of Christ Church helps ensure our ministry endures for generations?

One of the easiest ways to help Christ Church grow is by leaving a short Google review. When people in Baltimore search for a church, your words can make us more visible and more welcoming to those seeking a spiritual home.

By sharing your experience, you not only help us reach the unchurched and those looking for a new community—you also strengthen Christ Church’s 130+ year mission of spreading the Gospel in the Inner Harbor.

It’s simple:

  1. Search “Christ Lutheran Church, Baltimore” on Google.
  2. Click on our listing.
  3. Select “Write a review” and share your story.

Every review is an invitation: “This is Christ’s Church. There’s a place for you here!”

Think of one person…

Who in your life could use a little more encouragement, prayer, and belonging? A family member, a neighbor, a friend? A personal invitation from you might be the first step toward them discovering the gift of Christ’s love through this community.

If you have someone you'd like to invite but they don't know about Christ Church, you could point them to our "I'm New Here" website page. The page is designed to tell a viewer what we're about and what to expect.

You'll see one of the new drone photos of our campus and pictures from a very special event in our plaza.
