A New Chapter Begins for Lobo Elementary

What a great way to start our new school year! There’s lots of excitement around campus as we settle into our new Clarence Lobo Elementary chapter. There are plenty of new things to discover, and we’re excited to make this year special together as one school community!

A few quick reminders for the week:

🐬 Dolphin Day is almost here! Join us Monday, August 17, from 4:30–6:00 PM to explore campus, find classrooms, enjoy our family scavenger hunt, and celebrate our new Dolphins! Don’t miss the Opening Ceremony at 5:30 PM, featuring our Principals and special guest speakers. It’s going to be a special moment for our community!

🙌 We need a few extra helping hands! Dolphin Day takes a village! If you can help with setup on Sunday or Monday, even for just an hour, we’d be so grateful. Sign up here—every helping hand makes a difference!

🚌 First Day & Early Out Reminders: The first day of school has an extra early dismissal schedule, so be sure to check your child’s dismissal time and plan accordingly. Going forward, Thursday will be our weekly Early Out Day this year. Give yourself a little extra time during the first week as everyone gets familiar with new arrival and dismissal routines.

📚 Optional classroom supplies: Want to help your teacher? Supplies can come to school with your student or be dropped off at the front office. Please label donations with your teacher’s name so they get to the right classroom.

🏫 Take a look around! If you’re on campus this week, check out the many upgrades and improvements made over the summer. There’s lots to see!

📱 Update your records: Please make sure you’ve updated your contacts and family records with our school’s new name, address, and phone numbers.

Dolphin Day: Celebrating Our New School Community

The big day is almost here, and we’re ready to kick off a brand-new chapter together! As the Lobo and Marblehead communities come together, we’re excited to welcome our families to Clarence Lobo Elementary—Home of the Dolphins!

Join us for our very first Dolphin Day, a fun-filled Welcome Back celebration where families can connect, explore the campus, meet new friends, and get ready for the first day with a little less uncertainty and a lot more excitement.

Monday, August 17

4:30–6:00 PM

5:30 PM - Opening Ceremony & Guest Speakers: 5:30 PM

What’s Happening at Dolphin Day?

Students can:

• Meet classmates and reconnect with friends.
• Find their classroom and explore the new campus.
• Practice where to line up on the first day.
• Meet PTA, staff, and community partners.
• Have fun and shake off those first-day jitters!

Families can also enjoy:

• 🚒 Touch-a-Truck with our local community heroes.
• 🎨 Crafts, games, a photo booth, scavenger hunt, and prizes.
• 🍧 Snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy.
• 🤝 Community resource booths, after-school programs, PTA, and local organizations.

Most of all, Dolphin Day is about bringing our community together. We’re honoring the traditions and memories of both Lobo and Marblehead while beginning to create something new—together.

What's New This Year: Thursday Early Out

Mark your calendars! One important schedule change for the 2026–2027 school year is our weekly Early Out Day. For our returning Lobo families, Early Out has moved from Tuesdays to Thursdays. Our former Marblehead families will recognize this as the schedule they've followed in previous years.

Every Thursday, students will be dismissed early:

• Transitional Kindergarten (Early Bird & Late Owl): 11:38 AM
• Kindergarten: 12:40 PM
• Grades 1–5: 12:50 PM

This new schedule will be in effect every Thursday throughout the school year, so be sure to update your family calendar, childcare arrangements, and after-school plans.

Wed Sept 16th Ice Cream Social!

Bring the whole family for a sweet start to the school year! Our teachers will be serving up ice cream piled high with loads of delicious toppings. Come enjoy a fun evening, reconnect with friends, meet new Lobo families, and kick off the school year together!

Dolphin Day Needs you!

A HUGE shout-out to Candace Boren, who is chairing Dolphin Day! Candace has poured her heart, soul, and so much energy into making this event extra special—a wonderful way to welcome our families into their new school and celebrate this exciting new chapter together.

Now we need a few extra hands to help make it happen! We’re looking for volunteers Sunday and Monday to help with setup. Whether you can give an hour or a little more, every bit of help makes a difference.

Come lend a hand, meet some fellow Dolphin families, and help us make Dolphin Day one to remember! 

Our two PTAs are officially coming together and beginning the transition to operating as one PTA community! We’re excited about the opportunity to bring our teams together, share ideas, and find new ways to work side-by-side with an even larger group of volunteers.

One new tool we’re using to stay connected is WhatsApp, with dedicated chats for different areas of PTA involvement. If you’re interested in joining a chat or getting more involved, reach out to loboelementarypta@gmail.com and we’ll get you connected!

Right now, we’re busy planning the Ice Cream Social, preparing for our Membership Drive and first PTA meeting (all are welcome!), and building out the calendar for the rest of the school year. There’s lots happening behind the scenes, and we’re excited to build something great together!
