What a Week!

What a week it has been! After months of planning, preparing, and wondering what it would feel like to bring our two school communities together, we finally got to see it happen, more than 500 students filling the halls and campus of Lobo Elementary!

The school was buzzing with energy all week. Teachers and staff were welcoming students, kids were reconnecting with friends and making new ones, and our hallways were filled with the excitement that comes with a new school year. Seeing our campus come alive was such a wonderful reminder of what makes a school community special.

While there are certainly still a few things to work out (like drop off/pick up and parking...) the consolidation is off to a great start. We are so proud of how our families, teachers, staff, and students have embraced this new chapter. We are becoming one school community, and it was exciting to see that beginning to take shape this week.

Dolphin Day Recap

It was so special to see our Lobo and Marblehead families come together on the same campus and begin creating new traditions as Clarence Lobo Elementary—Home of the Dolphins! From exploring the newly improved campus, to finding line up spots and meeting teachers to enjoying Touch-a-Truck, crafts, games, snow cones, and more, there was something for everyone.

A very special thank you to Candace Boren, who chaired Dolphin Day and made this year's event bigger and better than ever before! Her dedication helped create such a welcoming experience for our families and gave our new school community a wonderful first celebration together.

SAVE THE DATE!

Wed Sept 16th Ice Cream Social!

Bring the whole family for a sweet start to the school year! Our teachers will be serving up ice cream piled high with loads of delicious toppings. Come enjoy a fun evening, reconnect with friends, meet new Lobo families, and kick off the school year together!

What's New This Year: Thursday Early Out

Mark your calendars! One important schedule change for the 2026–2027 school year is our weekly Early Out Day. For our returning Lobo families, Early Out has moved from Tuesdays to Thursdays. Our former Marblehead families will recognize this as the schedule they've followed in previous years.

Every Thursday, students will be dismissed early:

  • Transitional Kindergarten (Early Bird & Late Owl): 11:38 AM
  • Kindergarten: 12:40 PM
  • Grades 1–5: 12:50 PM

This new schedule will be in effect every Thursday throughout the school year, so be sure to update your family calendar, childcare arrangements, and after-school plans.

CUSD Art Lessons 8/24, 8/25

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for parents to get involved and volunteer with our amazing CUSD Art Lessons! By letting your teacher know of your interest in lending a hand, you can play a pivotal role in enhancing our students' artistic journeys. These fantastic programs not only provide our young learners with increased access to standards-aligned arts instruction but also open the doors for creative expression across a variety of disciplines.

Ralphs Rewards — An Easy Way to Support Lobo PTA

If you haven't signed up for Ralph's Community Rewards, now is a great time! This is one of the easiest ways to help PTA raise money for the incredible programs and activities we provide for our students year around, simply by shopping at Ralphs.

Former Marblehead families: You will need to log in to your Ralphs account and update your selected organization to Clarence Lobo Elementary so your purchases support our new PTA.

There is a flyer below, and another will be coming home in Friday Folders this week. Share this with grandparents, family members, friends, and coworkers, too! Once you're signed up, your everyday shopping can help support Lobo students all year long.

Each session includes:
