Call for Volunteers!
We still need your help! The smooth operation of the 61st Annual Mark Twain Library Book Fair is dependent on hundreds of dedicated volunteers. Be a part of this historic and storied event with us. Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 2-5) @ the Redding Community Center. Find volunteer opportunities HERE.
DONATION SHEDS CLOSED: We are no longer accepting donations for this year's Book Fair. We will begin accepting for next year on September 15th

Conversations Summer Sessions: Two Topics to Spark Lively Exchanges (Virtual)
For the second of our two summer sessions, we will build on themes from our previous discussion on Fahrenheit 451. This month’s book talk is about the international bestseller, The Book Thief, which takes a modern twist on Ray Bradbury’s famous classic and also focuses on the value of books and intellectual freedom.

Hope you were able to get deep into a mystery, flip through a new picture book or discover someone new in a biography this summer. It's time now to finish those books and log what you have read all summer. With just over a week left until school starts, as well as the deadline for adults to turn in your Bingo cards. Every book counts - whether you read or listen. Come on in and get those prizes!

CT Summer @ the Museum 2022 - Free Admission for Kids
Take advantage of these last weeks to visit museums at no charge! Connecticut children age 18 and under plus one accompanying CT resident adult can visit participating museums free of charge through the CT Summer at the Museum program. Before you visit, check each participant’s website for specific program details and ticket availability.

StoryWalk®
Take a final stroll through this year's six Redding locations of Storywalk® and delight in the joy of a story with the crunch of a walking trail underfoot before these enchanting pathways are taken down for the season. The featured stories are: A Pig Parade is a Terrible Idea, Blueberries for Sal, Chez Bob, The Gruffalo, Duck on A Bike and The Hike.

Redding boasts thousands of acres of protected land with many miles of trails to enjoy the great outdoors. The Redding Land Trust has published Redding’s Book of Trails since1982 as a guide to locate the trails in town. The book is available for purchase at the Mark Twain Library or you can check out the electronic version here.
