Dear Friends,
It is my greatest honor to represent you in Congress. As always, my mission is to advocate for Upstate New York and the North Country’s priorities at the highest levels of government. Here is a look at my past week working for you in Congress.

My Work This Week for Upstate New York and the North Country
Today, Fort Drum broke ground on their railhead project that will expedite the rapid deployment of troops, vehicles, and equipment from the base. As the leading advocate in Congress for Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division, I am proud to have delivered over $27 million in funding to complete this project. Today we are witnessing these taxpayer dollars return to our district to strengthen the Fort Drum community and improve the military readiness of the 10th Mountain Division, the most deployed Army division since 9/11. I will continue to advocate for ways to strengthen Fort Drum and our nation’s military.

I am continuing my work to support Fort Drum and am proud to advocate for it to host an Army Multi-Domain Task Force formation. Fort Drum possesses incredible capacity and capability to lead this charge in combating national security threats from China and Russia. I look forward to the Army moving forward with this request and bringing more resources, jobs, and support for our troops, Fort Drum, Upstate New York, and the North Country.
Today’s workers value independent work for the flexibility and economic opportunity it provides, yet too many restricting standards on independent work diminish freedom for workers and stifle these innovative work arrangements. My bipartisan Worker Flexibility and Choice Act will empower workers to choose the type of work that best fits their needs, while allowing businesses to offer workplace benefits traditionally only available to employees.
This bill will ensure workers the freedom and flexibility to accept or reject offers to provide their services, giving them control over when, where, and how much they wish to work. It will also promote worker freedom without infringing on certain workplace rights, allow workers to engage with and provide services for multiple entities at any given time, and provide the worker a written summary of any health, pension, training, or other benefits they may be eligible to receive.

While House Democrats push their radical abortion-on-demand agenda, I am working to safeguard access for women to resources without compromising the lives of the unborn. House Democrats’ bill allows non-FDA approved drugs, which puts women’s health significantly at risk and sends taxpayer funds to Far-Left abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. I support the Allowing Greater Access to Safe and Effective Contraception Act and the Access to Safe Contraception Act of 2022, solutions that will empower women by expanding birth control access and improving maternal healthcare.
Last Friday, I voted in support of bipartisan legislation to address the inexcusable baby formula shortage. The Formula Act will suspend tariffs on infant formula and alleviate barriers to returning baby formula to shelves.
This baby formula crisis never should have happened, and the Biden Administration should have taken action months ago, when I warned the FDA of this impending shortage in February. I am proud that Congress took an important step towards addressing the concerns of families across our nation who need to feed their babies.

Joe Biden is incentivizing illegal immigration. I am calling out the Department of Homeland Security for using non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to facilitate the release and onward travel of thousands of illegal border crossers in the United States. By facilitating the release and transportation of immigrants who came to this country illegally with taxpayer dollars, he has shown there are no consequences to breaking the law. Make no mistake, Joe Biden has made every state a border state, and we have seen evidence of subsidized flights of migrants to New York State. I am providing critical oversight by requesting all documents and information related to the use of NGOs to release illegal border crossers and the use of taxpayer funds to subsidize these activities. This is part of laying the groundwork for full oversight in a Republican majority to reveal the truth.
Thank you to all the constituents who participated in Thursday's telephone town hall.
I appreciate your important questions and comments on skyrocketing energy prices, Second Amendment rights, immigration, veterans, and more!

Wonderful to meet with Incoming 10th Mountain Division Commanding General MG Gregory Anderson.
I am thankful for the great work and legacy General Beagle leaves behind and look forward to continuing working to strengthen our Fort Drum community.

This week, my office attended a ribbon cutting at the new Alexandria Bay port of entry facility.
Since 2017, I have worked to deliver funding for this project, and now tourists, families, and commerce can travel through the port.

This week, my office honored Sgt. 1st Class John Seaman of Corinth at the Saratoga County Deceased Veterans Ceremony in Ballston Spa.
He was in the NY Army National Guard, was deployed to Germany as part of a medic unit, and served the Corinth School District for 37 years
