Today is the last day in January! Can you believe it's already one month into the new year?! This Sunday, we're welcoming back Matt Stegenga as our guest preacher. He'll be preaching on Luke 2:22-38 with a sermon titled, "Rodents, Routine, Redemption: Where does Jesus fit?". You can read more about Matt below.

Our services will include celebration of the Lord's Supper. We'll also be collecting our Benevolence Offering as an outflow of our worship. This fund is designated to assist people in our congregation and community who are struggling financially. You can place your offering in one of the boxes in the Worship Center or give securely online (select "Benevolence Offering" in dropdown menu). We look forward to seeing you in-person or online at 9:00AM and 11:00AM!

Matt grew up as an MK (missionary kid) in the rainforest of southern Mexico. He learned to speak three languages: Cho’l, English, and Spanish natively. He's spent over 30 years in marketing but is currently enjoying the low stress life as a local delivery semi-truck driver.

Prior to becoming part of Cornerstone, Matt and his wife, Kristin, had been members at Presbyterian Church of Stanley since 1998. Matt was ordained an elder and Kristin as a deacon. In his role as an elder, Matt was often enlisted to assist in leading worship which eventually led him to pursue a call to ministry and attend a number of years of seminary. While he has yet to complete his seminary education, Matt loves the Lord and serving the church as God calls and leads.

Join us in the church lobby on Sunday, February 16th at 12:15pm to help us prepare for Hunt-a-Trunk by counting the eggs we saved from last year's event! This will help us determine the number of eggs we need to collect for our March Mission Focus. Free pizza will be provided. All ages are welcome to attend! Register below.

At Cornerstone we're dedicated to devoting time to pray for our church, community and country. One way we do this is through our days of prayer.

You're invited to join us on Thursday, February 6th for our next day of prayer. The worship center will be open from 9:00AM-4:00PM for you to drop in and pray. A prayer guide will also be provided, and live worship will be from 11:30-1:30PM. We look forward to praying with you!

As of January 28th, we've received $123,053 toward our goal of $235K! As a reminder, Freedom to Flourish is a special campaign to pay off our mortgage between now and May 2025. Becoming debt-free instead of refinancing the loan will save Cornerstone $24K a year and avoid $120K in interest costs over 15 years. Gifts should be noted as "F2F" and can be made by check or online. If you are interested in gifting stock, please reach out to Lance Hodges in the church office. 

Looking for a community of parents? Join our parent class! We'll be discussing practical methods to partner with our children in their management of worry and anxiety. This is part two of the course, but you didn't need to participate in part one to join part two.

We'll meet on Sunday mornings from 10:05-10:50am starting February 2nd. Please purchase a copy of The Worry-Free Parent by Sissy Goff prior to attending the first session. There are several childcare options so use the links below for more details or to register.

We're supporting Advice & Aid Pregnancy Center for our February Mission Focus! Mission bags are available in the church lobby. Fill a bag with their needed items and then place it in the mission bin anytime in February. Thank you for supporting families facing unplanned pregnancies!
