Weekly Update:

Friday, April 18, 2025

Celebrate Easter at Cornerstone this Sunday! Bring your family to our 9:00AM or 11:00AM service to celebrate our Risen Savior. Kent Mathews will be preaching on Luke 24:13-35 with a sermon titled, "Under-Expecting of God". If you can't make it in-person, our services will be live-streamed online. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Note: In observance of Easter, the church office will be closed Monday, April 21st.

Tonight: Good Friday Concert

Tonight's the night! At 7:00 p.m., the Music Ministry will present "Colors of Grace", a Good Friday celebration of the four tenets of Christ's ministry on Earth: Servanthood, Obedience, Humility, and Forgiveness. Don't forget to reserve your seat to ensure that we can accommodate everyone. Questions? Contact Deb Harris.

Note: There is no childcare for this event.

Freedom to Flourish Update

As of April 15th, we've received $228,010 toward our goal of $235K! As a reminder, Freedom to Flourish is a special campaign to pay off our mortgage between now and this May.

Becoming debt-free instead of refinancing the loan will save Cornerstone $24K a year and avoid $120K in interest costs over 15 years. Gifts should be noted as "F2F" and can be made by check or online. If you are interested in gifting stock, please reach out to Lance Hodges in the church office.

Upcoming Day of Prayer

At Cornerstone we're dedicated to devoting time to pray for our church, community and country. One way we do this is through our days of prayer.

You're invited to join us on Thursday, May 1st for our next day of prayer. The worship center will be open from 9:00AM-4:00PM for you to drop in and pray. A prayer guide will also be provided. We look forward to praying with you!

Eagle Lake Camp Host Families + Volunteers

We want YOU to join our Mega Week team for Eagle Lake Day Camp! This year, we are hosting TWO teams of counselors allowing us to host 200 campers!

We need your help to make this happen. We'll need double the amount of host homes (16 total), as well as our regular volunteer roles for camp including check-in/check-out volunteers, a medical volunteer, and lunch prep volunteers. For more details about each role, click here.

Construction Update

As part of the development occurring on either side of Cornerstone, our south entrance at 135th Street will be closing in mid-May for reconstruction. We expect this will take about 4 months. During this time please use our other entrance from 133rd Street. Keep an eye out here for further updates on the closing date.

April Mission Focus

The Single Mom KC is our April Mission Focus! TSMKC seeks to connect families and communities to single mothers while offering the love and hope of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through mentoring, seminars and workshops, family activities, a clothing boutique, and assistance with obtaining household goods.

Throughout this month, Cornerstone will collect the following new items for The Single Mom KC (donation bags in the lobby!):

  • Women's socks (all sizes)
  • Women's underwear (all sizes)
  • Gift cards for Mother's Day (restaurants, recreations, Bath & Body Works, grocery, gas)
  • General gift cards (fast food, Starbucks, Scooter's)

Please place your items in the missions bin in the church lobby. If you choose to donate gift cards, there's a secure box at the Welcome Center in the Lobby. Thank you for living out our mission to love others and serve our city!
