Redding Reelers Fall Series: Marvelous Mavericks (Virtual)

This fall, Redding Reelers presents Marvelous Mavericks: Pluck, Persistence and Privies, a selection of three documentaries about some amazing (and somewhat quirky) individuals. This Month: For the Left Hand - At age 10, aspiring pianist Norman Malone is paralyzed on his right side after being attacked by his father. Over the next several decades he masters the left-hand repertoire in secret, before a chance discovery of his talent leads him to a concert debut.

How to Hunt Ghosts: A Program for Young Adults 

(In-person for Grades 6-12)

Paranormal investigator Barry Pirro will share advice about the type of equipment needed to hunt ghosts, where to go on your first ghost hunt, and how to gather photo, audio, and video evidence. In addition, he will share stories about some of his creepiest ghost hunting cases, show videos of ghosts and other haunted activity, and hear actual recordings of ghost voices.

iPhone Photography - Use Your iPhone to its Full Potential (Virtual)

Join us for this virtual program and learn to take better photos and get the best results from your iPhone by knowing the basics: settings, techniques, lenses, lighting, focusing, exposure, composition and more. Improve your photography by knowing how to use and control your iPhone camera.

Classics Book Club: Silent Spring (In-person)

This group is led by MTL’s bibliophile extraordinaire,  Catherine Riordan. Catherine taught literature at the college level for many years, and shares her contagious enthusiasm for the classics. The group reads and discusses titles of all time periods, including modern works. Copies of the latest book will be available at the Library’s front desk.

Psycho - Classic Horror on the Big Screen (In-person)

This Halloween season, drop into the Library for an adult dose of horror with Alfred Hitchcock’s groundbreaking film Psycho — on the big screen! This film is rated R. Those under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.


With each registration, popcorn and either a soda or (if you’re over 21) a glass of wine!

Africa, A Close Encounter

ENDING November 6th


A photo exhibit by two local retirees from their two-week photography expedition to Tanzania is on display in the Library rotunda through November 6th. Come check out these incredible images hanging on our walls taken by longtime friends and traveling buddies Bill Balch and Larry Untermeyer. You'll want to go yourself when yo see them!

Tiny Tots Halloween Party & Parade (Ages birth-5)


The Library’s youngest patrons are invited to put on their costumes (or festive clothes) and celebrate Halloween with stories and songs. We’ll watch a 5 minute mini-movie while we enjoy a simple Halloween snack. Then, we’ll parade by the circulation desk and trick-or-treat for stickers and lollipops.

New Session Beginning! The Creative Collective Discussion Group (Virtual)


In this 8-week session the Creative Collective will explore how to break down creative blocks with the help of two books: The War of Art by Steven Pressfield and Creativity by John Cleese. These books will be used as a spring board for inspiration and discovery.
