Happy Independence Day!
Today is the day we celebrate America and our nation's founding. We live in the greatest nation in the world, and we should always be striving to make it better, but also remember what makes our nation great - freedom, liberty, and the principles enshrined in our nation's founding documents.

As we all spend time with family, friends and neighbors on this Independence Day, we should also take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women of our military. Without them, our nation would not be the world's beacon of freedom.

Be safe and have a happy Independence Day!
Making Health Care More Affordable
I am committed to expanding access to health care. During the 116 th  Congress, I have supported a number of health care bills that lower the cost of prescription drugs, protect patient access to care, support hospitals and health care workers, and more:

  • Ensuring out-of-work Americans have access to health care
  • Lowering the cost of prescription drugs
  • Protecting health care coverage for individuals with pre-existing conditions
  • Making critical investments in hospitals and health care providers nationwide
  • Protecting nurses from being furloughed

Have you not received your $500 Economic Impact Payment for each qualifying child?
If you used the Non-Filers tool before May 17, you do not need to take any action. The IRS is actively working on a method to fix this error and automatically issue the additional $500 EIP to the impacted individuals as soon as possible. We will continue to provide updates as more information is available.

We need to invest in our nation's roads and bridges
Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle want a bipartisan solution to fix our nation’s crumbling roads and bridges, but Speaker Pelosi opted to pursue left wing Green New Deal principles instead. That's wrong.

Counting All Military Votes Act
Every American has the right to vote, including our military men and women serving overseas. However, each election, the votes of more than 10,000 military members serving in our embassies, consulates, and diplomatic posts not under jurisdiction of the Department of Defense are at risk of not being counted. That's why I introduced the Counting All Military Votes Act, to ensure that the men and women in our military can exercise their right to vote.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July with family and friends this weekend, let’s remember our military members serving overseas and give thanks for the work they do each and every day to protect our freedoms.

Supporting America's Farmers with American-Made Biofuels
This week, I joined the bipartisan Congressional Biofuels Caucus in writing a letter to President Trump urging him to support American ethanol production and respect the Congressional intent of the Renewable Fuel Standard.
