Introduced the Pandemic Rapid Response Act

I introduced the bipartisan
Pandemic Rapid Response Act
, which establishes a true bipartisan commission to analyze our nation's response and make recommendations to better prepare our country for any future pandemic. The bill is closely modeled after the establishment of the 9/11 commission.

Federal Funds Flowing to Illinois
|
This week, I announced that six Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in IL-13 have received a total of $4.7 million in HHS grants to combat the coronavirus. This funding was appropriated through the CARES Act, which I voted for and President Trump signed into law on Friday, March 27th.
Recipients below:
- Central Counties Health Centers, Springfield, $841,445
- Chestnut Health Systems, Bloomington, $569,225
- Crossing Healthcare, Decatur, $850,865
- Macoupin County Public Health Clinic, Carlinville, $652,715
- Promise Healthcare, Champaign, $788,915
- SIU Center for Family Medicine, Springfield, $1,040,210
I also announced that the State of Illinois received nearly
$1.4 million
from FEMA and $6.3 million from the CDC.

Congressional Art Competition Changes
|
My 2020 Congressional Art Competition submission deadline is Friday, April 17th and submissions are being accepted electronically. Both of these modifications are due to the coronavirus pandemic and resulting mandatory school closings. Students may do their artwork independently at home and are not required to submit through their school.

Majority of IL-13 Households Have Completed Census

The U.S. Census Bureau has reported that a majority of IL-13 households have now completed their 2020 Census - 50.6%. Have you? If not now is the time. Illinois' amount of representatives in Congress and presidential electoral votes depends on you!
